Hi Folks

i saw the dealer install the baffles on my Akra race slip ons. He put the cheese grater/cone in the RIGHT slip on. My understanding is that it'e meant to go in the left. Can anyone confirm?

Cheers

Conical 'cheese grater' cone definitely in the L/H slip on.
Cheers mate. I figured as much. It was loose on the right. That was likely the chainslap noise I was noticing riding home after picking her up (from new). I've popped it over to the left now.

Just so Ive got it 100% right, the cone goes into the slip on, from the back, with the pointy bit first? Then it seats itself in there against a lip which gets held together by the link pipe once that's connected. Does that sound right?

Yes, exactly.

In the left, small end in the can first. The large end rests on a lip which is pressed against the pipe when installed.

Thanks pal. I let the dealer know they had put the grater in the wrong side, for future reference! Figured it looked weird when they were putting it in. Luckily I have a spring puller at home. It was quick and easy to get it swapped over.

Hope this helps in the future for all out there

I´ve never used mine, it´s a bit loud without baffles/db-killers but does it help? Like really help? I heard someone say it´s still crazy loud.

They're still loud. I only heard them for a few seconds on idle before inserting them. Seems slightly less loud but could just be the placebo effect.
