Help with starting/idling issue

I've got a 2000 Monster 750 Dark. I bought it from a kid who had been storing it over the winter and didn't start.

With a new battery, drained fuel, and filled with good fuel, it turned over but didn't start. It would kick for a stroke or two with engine starter in the air intake but still wouldn't turn over. I took the carb off and did a half-... cleaning job and put it back on. At that point it would still turn over but stopped kicking with starter in the air intake. I checked the plugs. They looked fine and they had a spark but it looked a little weak.

I took the ignition coils off. They tested fine. I didn't have a ton of faith in this fixing the problem but I replaced them and it started right up to an idle. I let it idle for a little bit but every time I gave it throttle the engine would stall out.

I figured it was my half-... job cleaning the carb so I took it off again (ugh) and cleaned it thoroughly. Replaced the carb and I was back to square one with the engine turning but not even giving a kick with starter sprayed into the air intake.

I am not sure where to go from here. I ordered a new starter relay and two new ignition coils but I am not super confident that is going to do anything. However, I don't know what else to think except that the cleaning of the carb had nothing to do with the engine starting or not starting and it was just intermittency in the electrical causing it to either start or not start.

Any thoughts? Thank you so much.
