Really wish they wouldn't have done that with the gas tank. The extended fairing to the gas tank is horrible. Hopefully the R model does not have this, more then likely it will. Clutch cover is the same as the motor video.

Definitely more voluptuous than our current bikes, although we expected that. Hopefully these photos don't do justice to the final product or seeing it in person. Looking at the previous spy shots of the blacked out bikes, I really didn't mind the look so much, however, something about seeing it in red makes it look cheap and generic. Maybe they will still do some fine tuning...

Whatever that is, it's ugly!

youve already got at least two people saying that this is IT (actually one senior member quoting a highly reliable source), and yet youre all still thinking up weird ..... wish i had even a fraction of a penny for every time someone falsely cried "photoshop". lol

If it's the real deal it's going to be a very quiet future for the v4. i know a bunch of guys that are waiting to put down a deposit, but have all said if that's real, they're out.
I'm on the waiting list as well. But I still think Ducati is messing with us. Surely they can't be that dumb to let pictures slip, especially considering how unattractive it is.

Motorcycle manufacturers are running out of ideas in terms of styling sometimes you can see styling cues taken from other bikes.

Please Ducati don't extend that fairing on top of the fuel tank, it looks ugly as hell.

I think if they abandon the underbody exhaust and went with a superleggera style out the back, it would one clean up the bottom cause it looks a mess, and it would look like the thing is moving to the next step.

I'm still not buying one in 18, mainly cause I just bought a 1299 S, but give it a year or two for refinements and it will be okay.

BTW, it looks big, but as long as it does not go over 440 wet the weight will not be an issue.

Whatever "IT" means.... Until it's an official photo from Ducati saying THIS IS IT at the EICMA show, nothing is "IT". Don't base your judgement on a new bike based upon a crappy spy photo, regardless of whether it's a photo of a "real" prototype bike or if it's a pure photoshop, there is NO difference between those two. It's not "IT" until Ducati says it's "IT". Many people always want to jump the shark, which is really pointless.

im not sure what you mean by "its not "IT" until ducati says its "IT". look, all any of us can hope for at this point is a leaked pic of the real thing, which some of us believe is what we have here. so technically, if the "believers" are proved to be right, this bike is "IT", even without ducati saying so.

but i do agree with you in that we shouldnt judge anything based on a few photos. you have to see a bike in person before you can truly get an accurate indication as to whether you like it or not.

Why do you need to "believe" anything about an unofficial spy photo, that's my point. Back to the desire to jump the shark again, you don't need to do that. You can see spy photo and think "meh, it's a spy photo", you don't have to project your judgement of the actual, real-deal final bike to be revealed at EICMA based upon that. I would argue it's pointless to do that, what could you possibly gain by making judgements before then? I've never seen that work out, including when the 1199 Panigale came out in 2012.

i see your point more clearly now.

I work in product marketing, as in, vehicles that are not due out till 2023 and beyond. Manufactures are not this careless to let pictures get out before an official launch, especially these well prepped pics. There's a good chance that what we see is an early version that they were still working on. Just keep that in mind.

Leaks do happen whether it be iPhones or R1's.
If its a demo test bike then there would be .... all over it like the panigale had.

It looks like one big ass fairing extending all the way up. That has to be a pre-production model with some tweaks to come.

The more I look at it, the more I think that it won't be as iconic as the Panigale is/was. But I think it's going to look a lot better in real life than the pics being posted. They are really bad angles and distorted so far.
