Hi Guys,

i have a 2017 HM SP. i'm interested in installing an up/down(blipper) quick shifter.

looks like IRC and RapidBike with the quick shifter add on are the primary options.

has anyone installed either? if so, how well do they work?

Those are the 2 best options. You will need to also have the RB tuner to use the quickshift module. It's an add on module not a stand alone. I use the RB and it works great. It has a feature that makes shifting safer and quicker. You set peramiters like normal QS but you can enable this feature that once you start pushing/pulling the lever the instant the sensor sees a fluctuation in pressure (i.e. the shift has been made) the file cut stops. This makes for very fast and smooth shifting. Both options you listed will require aftermarket rearsets or the Bonamici shifter. That specific lever clocks the mounting point back allowing just enough room to fit the load cell

thanks, does the RB fuel management system make that big of a difference in fueling? do you think it's worth the cost and installation effort?

what model/year HM do you have this installed on?

The RB fuel tuner makes the most difference in the bike out of almost all my mods. The bike with the RB tuner, Starace RSR and slip on exhaust makes the bike so much smoother and pull harder everywhere till you hit the rev limiter. I initially intended on doing the healtech quickshifter since you don't need aftermarket rearsets to use it but I came across the RB shifter for a screaming deal. My bike is a 2013 821 with a bunch of work done to it including a kbike dry slipper clutch conversion, suspension and billet master cylinders. I had the Bonamici shifter (so I could mount the load cell) but eventually switched to full RSV rearsets.

I just got the IRC up/down shifter installed. had the dealer install it. beyond my tinkering comfort level. it's sweet. upshift between 1st & 2nd is bit of a clunk, but everything else up and down is smooth as butter. it has a bunch of settings that i might play with. might be able to smooth out the 1-2 shift.

Every bike that I have ridden with a quick shifter 1 to 2 is clunky including my 821 hyper with Rapidbike quick shifter. I'm thinking it's just the nature of the rear ratio and drivetrain lash

Thanks. Good to know.
