Holy F@#$ Rear Wheel Nut

LOL you do realize that:
A 230Nm is the manual spec
B 230Nm is 169 lbs, relatively insignificant from 150 lbs on that size fastener. I believe that the 230Nm is also spec in the manual for proper loading of the bearing/ bearing spacer, assemble. They probably just kept the torque the same in both sides. Either way personally, I’ll stick to the spec.

…if it is “relatively insignificant” than why are you sweating about it!? I am just sharing my experience with my track bike which gets rear wheel swapped constantly and this worked for me. No Big Bertha impacts wrenches or similar, just 2 foot Snap-on breaker bar and my foot on the rear brake!
We all do things we see fit for given application and we all are adults so to each his own.
Ruhe good luck with the nut, it’s been a while man… since old organization fell apart!

Not sweating it whatsoever. I responded only on your expletive “213NM OH HELL NO” as the “bold tone” seem to imply that 230nm was somehow in the stratosphere compared to your recommendation of 150lbft which it isn’t and also to state why the mfg (you know, the guys who engineered and built it) call for what they call for. All good.

Thanks for all the input guys. It kept me from giving up. So a full min with 180psi and this little bugger

In the end Endodoc was correct more muscle needed. I can’t imagine another use for a gun this size so thanks for letting me borrow it Amazon.

Threaded right back on threads look fine nut looks good but everything was dryer than a 90 year olds coochie !!!!!!

Congratulations! I’ll defer to someone with more knowledge than me, but should the OP be concerned about damage to the rear wheel bearings? I was under the impression that over tightening can ruin wheel bearings.

Youpaiyou. I have considered that and with the amount of heat and everything. I am going to do a complete tear down of the axle hub assembly and verify everything is Bene Bene.

I was worried the axle you be devoid of threads and they look excellent.

I have parts if you need them, (bearings, spacers, gaskets, spring retainers etc) and to get the snap ring off the hub you’ll need one of these or equivalent.

Additionally, Ducati parts availability for anything but routine items is a .... show. I have 4 orders with AMS 3 with WRS and 2 with Belisimoto some of them months old. To add to that Italy is in holiday mode. If anyone needs something weird that you can’t get, I might have it.

Can I get a 1/2 of Jack…. Oh .... never mind what I was saying.
I just got confirmation some parts I needed for elsewhere on the bike are on the way. I knew I would make it under the wire. Yep Italy shuts down a few times for summer holiday winter holiday. The Giro and others. F1 Moto GP

Just out of curiosity. If the no nuts a movin is a known Ducati issue. Why not address it or is that not possible. Is Ti hardware the answer or just proper cleaning, lube and assembly and torque the solution.

Not a known Ducati issue in the strictest sense of the term "known." I've owned three, and have taken off and reinstalled the wheels on all three numerous times. If you're in Georgia maybe your bike has a Florida history possibly leading to more corrosion.

proper cleaning, lube and assembly and torque the solution.

Yes.

North Carolina Inland bike the Union way dry. Dirty but dry. I think that could with the fact that when they sit or don’t get wheel swaps they are harder to loosen. All good this wheel will be off the bike frequently this summer if I can get it set up the way I want it.
Thanks for hanging out in my foxhole of misery all.
