Honda CBR1000RR-R SP 2024 vs V4R 2023

I don’t ever remember seeing the fireblade at track days, but today there were three of them at the track, almost as many fireblades as there were Ducati’s

Did you buy one Steven?

I put a deposit on one. Supposed to be here in January. I could potentially back out on it because it’s a refundable deposit but I already bought Wheels and fairings and exhaust and some other track stuff for it so I’m probably into about 10k in parts for it.

So I’m committed to it.

I didn’t hate how it looks visually in pictures but love the performance specs on it. But in person it looks nice rolling around a track at speed.

Some cars are like that, where they look better moving than they do sitting still, the Fireblade is like that visually. But really it’s about that Chassis and engine and tune-ability.

Have you guys seen the new Bimoto???

We were all DROOLING over it this weekend.

Yet another hopeless mid-pack team

The whole championship is so depressing, 2 more years on bikes that don't have any future because radical left trying to cancel ICE engine under false pre-text of global warming

Might as well seat all on Ohvale, they probably have the longest EOL timeframe

Relax, snowflake ❄️

@SuperDomestique SC82 has always had better front end feel than the V4R regardless of year made for either bike. The V4R and RR-R both do the same lap time but the RR-R has WAY less drama doing it. Also, by comparison the Ducati has a feeling of riding on marbles to me.....it moves around a lot more. BOTH are great bikes but which bike is right for you depends on your goals.

Pick the RR-R is you want a REAL race bike that is competitive in Stock classes the world over.

Pick the V4R if you want something very nice that you can track if you want and Ducati will sell you all sorts of stuff that works up to a certain pace.....that pace is about mid-pack MotoAmerica Stock 1000.

Unfortunately due to local mafias in various countries, V4R is not homologated for Superstock but same price point M1000RR is, so its not really fair.

CIV/National Trophey are full of V4Rs and they are doing just great there vs. other bikes. Pirro has been winning for ages

MA rules only state info for 19/20 R and I am pretty sure no one has run them since PJ // HSBK. RSV4 1100 is mentioned but not V4 1100

I'm sure there are cheaper ways to race than going with a Ducati.

you watched Dave's video about Rapid Honda budget. He specifically says they are not allowed to disclose how much $$ they pay for the bike, which means bikes are discounted and surely are capped at racing association caps

in presence of those caps, racing Ducati or Honda or BMW in a national series is all moneywise comparable when looking the frame+engine price alone.

Happy to be proved wrong, but all the data available in public shows that this is the case.

National racing is a big boys sport, i.e not the place to nickel and dime anything. What those teams want is a well supported platform that has a shot at the title, not the cheapest option. The cost of trackdays for brand enthusiasts like our Ducati crowd are a joke in comparison, but then again its an individual sport where people compete with themselves or maybe cross over into club racing. There are better bikes to go racing with or for that matter do trackdays than a V4 Pani for 90% of owners. What is interesting and it may be misleading but the abundance of technical threads and enthusiasm that the XX99 bikes had on the board isnt there for the V4, there used to be a lot of guys building, modding and racing the twins. Thats pretty much gone now, maybe the new bikes are better but they dont seem to elicit the same passion, and the fact we are discussing a HONDA in a positive light on a DUCATI forum tells you all you need to know about where Ducati are headed, that and 40% of the bikes retail for a pipe and "race" software!

I see less forum threads on the Internet about the Fireblade from track day enthusiasts. Information seems quite scarce.

You’d be an ..... to privateer a Ducati. Oh wait…

It ain't privateering but it will be fun, at least someone recognizes the fact that us fanboys need our own mini-series, imagine racing with the commoners and getting passed by a K-5 Gixxer with duct taped fairings
