how big is spark plug access hole? 1199/1299

Hello everyone,
i'm trying to buy a socket that will fit down the access hole to remove the spark plug. Can someone tell me the measurements on that hole?

Ive found this, but the exterior dims of the socket are 18.5mm

The spark plug sleeve ID is 19.825mm. The 14mm plug socket I use has an OD of 19.50. Perfect fit.
 
I would not buy socket with extension of certain length permanently attached to it!
Just get the socket and you can use different length extensions to achieve depth and clearance to be able to work. These things are jam packed with not a lot off room to work with.
 
no worries...i'm not actually replacing..i'm pulling the plugs to put a scope down into the combustion chamber so i can see if my pistons on the 1299 are all blown/torn to .... like my 1199 was...

i'm too damn paranoid man!

Gotcha! I'd do the same!! LOL- I probably need to, in fact--let me know what you find out re: correct socket size!

-maybe my thin-wall BMW socket would fit---??

Dimensions of the opening is 19.75 mm roughly according to my non-digital calipers. So this works great!

If you have the original tool kit, there is actually a spark plug tool that fits right in it.

thoughts on this guys? it’s the same plug in different lighting and vertical piston. All of the intake valves looked the same.
