How far on full tank of gas.

I'm getting about the same as you Adrian, depending on how hard I'm riding, about 180 km round trip to work and back and still have plenty in the tank, I run only the shell premium in mine, 98 octane rating.

Less Ethanol perhaps?

Less Ethanol perhaps?

I think you may be right, you can buy what they call E10 fuel here in Aus as well which has a higher ethanol component, not good for injectors though, I was running it in my car for a while and had to replace throttle bodies, get much better consumption using the higher rated premium unleaded, costs more but better MPG.

I run mine hard. Every time. I never get more than 125kms before the fuel light comes on. It is very thirsty. Reading this forum, and all the 200+km tanks? Seem impossible.

I ride at a medium pace. I push hard occasionally. Gotta get that thrill. I usually get around 95-100 miles on a tank before the light comes on and I give it about 3 gallons usually so thats roughly 33 mpg. I'm fine with that. My old 900 SS/SP would get a little better than that and my 996 was a little better but they were alot slower too.

So 160 kms? Really? Damn. I would be empty!!!

With termi full system, sprint filter, and Tuneboy/dyno tune I'm getting about 160km. For a few months I was getting 185km, but I have no idea what was different. If it had happened once I might have thought I didn't reset the trip counter

90-100miles the light comes on, i make it a point not to exceed 20mi on the fuel light (steady on, i ignore the first few flickers of the fuel light). This is on my 1299.
The 1199 was slightly worse gas mileage.

Hey there Graydon, hope your doing well partner.

You were right about the 12 being a better bike too...

I've had my 1199s for a few weeks now, commuting 100kms per day, highway and city.

I have been running on around 212km to 14.5L, so about 6.84L/100km. I'm still working up the courage to push a bit further on the light.

Google tells me that's around 34mpg, whatever that means.

Wow, these are very poor numbers. I guess I am the most conservative rider here. Commuting, I get over 160 miles per tank before I refuel and when I do it fills to no more than 4 gallons, telling me that I still have some distance left. The aggregated MPGs mostly freeway is no less than 42mpg. I'm near 11K miles on the Odo BTW
Have you ever had shift light illuminate or redline? I kid. Mine gets horrible fuel mileage. Seems I am always the one stopping the group for fuel. But I live in the upper RPM. My V4 begs for it. 😂

made it 40 miles once after 100 when light came on aggressive riding for the 100. tank took full rated capacity when filling it. dont want to do that again.

My last track day I reset the MPG and trip before going out. I could have sworn it indicated 17 MPG. I was in second most of the time with pretty high RPM, more than the street anyway.

I get around 33-35 MPG for sporty street riding.

The bike has a sensor which records fuel flow. That combined with distance and you get MPG. One of these days I'll log it and see how much it drinks at the upper range of the tachometer.
