looks like we got no squids here lol.
i was just curious how everyones doing here.

good to hear that everyone is riding safe!

Always.
Alpinestars Nucleon KR Back and Chest protector inserts in my 2015 Alpinestars GP Tech jacket. Best street/track jacket and setup around.

My winter jacket has a back protector, but I must confess I don't have one in my summer mesh jacket. I have all the other pads, boots, gloves, full face helmet etc year around. But I sweat like hell in our summer heat/humidity and could not stand the back protector. Safety on a motorcycle is all about compromises anyway. If we were ALL about safety we would not be riding to begin with.

dont do something just because everyone doing it
do something because it is the right thing to do

that being said yes, full gear with back protector every time i get on the bike

Saw a massive SQUID riding a new H2 yesterday at my Duc dealer. I love my dealer (Ducati Omaha). All the people are genuinely cool...we were ragging on the guy together. His basketball shoes matched the bike really nicely, though. His white T might've had some dead bugs on it after his ride.

H2s are ugly as .....

i once came to a scene where a dude crashed into an oncoming car that just took a left . i was there a minute later.

flew 45 ft.

just wore a helmet and gloves.

he must have been doing ~80-100mph.

not pretty.

a back protector would not have improved his situation (he made it), but nontheless, i wear mine all the time. (with most other parts of the gear).

sometimes i even ride the grom in full gear - 1 piece leathers. (for the commute i wear gloves, helmet, full impact jacket and boots).

no such thing as having enough preparation!
leather will save your skin, and armour will save your bone, cant remember when was the last time i ride without proper gear

ATGATT. Here's my 08 R1 after a 100+ mph off on the street. Messed my back up for a little while from when my hip hit the curb but I didn't loose any skin and you can see where my back protector played a role because the Dainese wave pattern was burned into the outside of the suit.

To put it in perspective a lil bit.

i always have some form of back protector whenever i get on the bike. full leather with back protector or jacket with back protector.

On February 11th of this year, i left my office and 50 feet later was hit by a car turning left with no directionals or any indication that she was turning, Of course she hit me and DROVE OFF. fortunately there was witnesses and video, so the police got her 5 days later. i was lying on Hollywood Blvd until the LAFD took me to the hospital.

I spent 9 days in the hospital, 3 1/2 months in a wheel chair, with broken pelvis on both sides, my right hand was on top of my wrist in my glove and my left thumb was pulled back 180 degrees, 5 surgeries and a lot of therapy, i am walking with crutches and slowly getting to use my hands again. I will never be 100 % but ill get to 90% or so/

I was wearing a Schubert helmet, Daineses boots, jacket and so forth with back protection

The surgeons said all of my gear saved my live, and saved my back, spine and head from permanent neurological damage. I hope one person who reads this that doesn't wear gear every ride will change, i wasn't on the bike for 30 seconds when i got hit.

Damn, glad you're getting better bud. Please regale us with stories of how ...... that woman was by the law or your attorney.

Sadly, She plead guilty to a Misdemeanor and got off with 2 years probation, 20 days community service and loses her drivers license for 3 years. it was supposed to be a felony

the detective was as upset as I was, she told me that they never get the proof they have on my case, this was a travesty of justice.

I still get ill over it

ugh.. My story is so similar to yours. I posted what happened to me a few posts back. The Woman that ran the red light told the officer that the reason she ran the light was... " I saw a parking spot right in front of my Italian class that I go to every Friday". Seriously, that was her excuse. The officer wrote her up fo ELEVEN separate tickets and the judge threw the book at her, but all she got was a suspended license for two years and that was about all. The Judge even apologized to me that there was nothing more he could do.

Cheers and I hope you heal up quick. As soon as my broken ribs allowed me to, I was back on the bike commuting in 6 weeks.. My ribs were the initial problem, but the broken left wrist has been the longest issue to deal with. 6 years after the accident, I have almost full range of motion and almost zero pain anymore.

Thank you and Im sorry you had to go through it too

Gear does save lives, as well as neurological problems
