Iannone Strikes Again! (Spoilers)

I do believe that was the best GP race I have seen in many years, to see Rossi top the list in FP4 was hopeful. But then watching him drop back to 8th then come through the field was sublime. I would not be surprised if some one else was in the maniac's seat next race, GiGi was NOT HAPPY. It was also a mark of Rossi's sportsmanship that he went over and shook hands with MM in victory circle.

Anyone else think what they saw just now was intentional? Contract not renewed with Ducati, not in the running for the championship this year, VR is a good friend... Not sure how many people buy into the proxy war from last season, but... He could have had Lorenzo down the straight. There was no logical reason to attempt a pass in that corner. And I don't buy that he made a mistake...

Yes and the moon landings were faked too. Surely you cannot be serious.

After listening to race direction. It appears that they believe Iannone and his telemetry. However due the fact that it was his second infraction he will receive 2pts and start from the back at the next race.

Iannone confirmed that his telemetry Dara was the same as in the lap before.

JLo goofed around and got ass packed

I was thinking the same thing. While watching the race I was saying to myself. What the hell is JLo doing!?! His line was so different than his previous laps. Like I said before, I am not saying Iannone is guilt free but damn he was making up ground on JLo like crazy and prob should have just taken a bit more caution with his approach.

He can't be cautious, he's the Maniac. He will be better on the Suzuki, he will have more time to think before he arrives at his brake markers.

Great race. It's funny how MarkNY is nowhere to be found whenever Rossi wins. Mark you can come out of your moms basement now... It's ok.

Viniales will be a monster in the yammy next year!

I actually think MarkNy is actually Marquez using a fake account on this forum.....

Just to clear a few things up Iannone didn't brake any later that he had the previous laps. His telemetry backs this up. Lorenzo braked way early. Not saying that it is not Iannone fault but I don't think he did it intentionally.

^^^This. I just finished watching the recorded race and Iannone was immediately pissed off at JLo and making mad Italian arm gestures at him while his ass was still burning from the slide sitting in the runoff area. I wondered how the hell Crazy Joe could be pissed at JLo for that and then read above, makes total sense.

I don't hang out anymore but had to come on here to see what the hell MarkNY could possibly say about his boy-crush MM93 not decimating The GOAT on the last couple of laps. Somebody should do a welfare check on him since he hasn't shown up yet, he might have stroked out!

What can you say about The GOAT? He's right back to his old formula: ...... qualifying, scything through the pack, and generally making everybody look foolish as he wins by a mile. All for the love of the game...

Watch it again. Of course Lorenzo was pissed, but after Iannone recovers from the daze, he looks over at Lorenzo and throws his arms outwards clearly in anger.

So Iannone will start last next race but Lorenzo say it's not enough....

Lorenzo wants automatic Championship this year because he is slower than Rossi. If MotoGP don't go with what he wants then he will complain and act like a little bitch all year...wait he always been little bitch so status quo. Hah!

Nice strawman, but i don't think he said that.
Don't get me wrong, I'm no JLo fan. But all these hate on motogp nowadays is starting to be a bit sickening.
And dammit iannone. Once is bad, twice is out of control.

He did say the first part. I was joking on second.

Crazy Joe...not good. Interesting comments from him saying he braked at his same brake markers and Lorenzo going too slow. Also commented there was telemetry data to show it.

Good race with VR & MM. Even a handshake between the two after!

That's irrelevant, if there's a rider in front of you, it's your responsibility to pass them cleanly regardless of the line or speed that rider is going.

And even though JL was off his normal pace, I doubt that he changed his line by more than a few inches.

Whatever happened to the term "racing incident"? That's all this was. Iannone wasn't trying to do anything here; he was caught out by a strange circumstance and bad luck. Pol Espargaro, trailing the two, confirms as much here:

2016 Barcelona MotoGP Post-Race Round Up: On Healing Races, a Reconciliation of Sorts, and Silly Mistakes

No one lifts the rear wheel approaching the apex as AI did; he was on the normal line but Lorenzo was much slower than usual. He didn't have time to go outside as some people suggest. Just bad luck; does he share some blame? Sure. There wasn't any intent there though.

Race direction seems to see AI as the new Simoncelli, and are punishing him I feel too harshly for it. They look at the incident with Dovi (which they have already punished AI for) and combined it with this one to send him to the back of the grid. This one though was a racing incident; the thing with Dovi was a calculated risk that AI took, and he lost on it. If he'd won on that he'd be the one on the factory Ducati next year, not Dovi. A last lap. last corner lunge to improve a podium position is a bad thing now? Race direction is becoming too heavy-handed. I don't think AI's actions this year warrant the penalties he's received.

After the Marquez/Rossi incident, race direction will err on the cautious side to avoid retribution out on the race track.
