I keep hearing the "Comfort Seat" might push you over the edge if you're tip toeing. I'm 5'9" and tip toe now but want to get the Comfort Seat. I'm trying to find out what the shortest you can be is and still have the comfort seat.
Does anyone here have a comfort seat that's 5'9" - ish?

It's definitely higher. If you tip toe now you're going to be twinkle-toe-ing it with the comfort seat for sure. Get a plush towel, fold it up and sit on it to get an idea of what it's like.

It is a tad higher at 5'9 but not as noticeable as the performance seat. A tad on the tip-toes but not as bad as the latter.

Its more about your inseam than your height. Ive seen guys that are 6ft with a short inseam (built like a tree stump) that tip toe on them.

Inseam measurements ...... depends on which side one dresses I guess :p

5 11 feet flat the only problem is i feel i am sitting on the bike with the comfort seat.

with the stock seat i feel im part of the bike or in it.

hated the higher seats at 6'

Plan on different material and maybe a little gel, and call it a day.

Stock seat is fine really, just a little to slippery.

I'm 5 10 and run a comfort seat, when I ride in my cowboy boots I can put my feet down flat, when I ride in my roadrace boots or sandles it's toe down barely. I also backed off some preload and compression damping on the rear shock. The comfort seat made a huge difference, for me it made the bike enjoyable to ride.

Really???

6'-3"

I didn't like the extra height of the comfort seat at first. It really does make you feel like you're on top of the bike, not sitting in it, as another poster had wrote.

After a couple of days off of the bike I put the comfort seat back on and during a long ride got used to it. Now I wouldn't want to go back.

I also feel like there is less sandwiching of my junk against the tank. I don't know if its just the way the comfort seat is cut, or the angle it places you at, but this alone make rides more enjoyable.

Now if I could just reset that f'n oil light...

5'7" with a 30" inseam and I'm on the balls of my feet and very comfortable when riding long distances. When I am at the track or canyons, I switch over to the stock R seat and it actually feels a lot lower--almost flat foot with boots (TCX X-Move); balls of feet on Sidi Vertigo.

I guess, it depends on which pair of boots I wear. Casual riding with TCX and sport riding with Sidi. Basically, I end up on the balls of my feet regardless of which seat I choose. I am fine with that as most of the time, I am have my right foot down at most stops due to heat related discomfort otherwise.

** Important ** I must say that the comfort seat is nicer as long as the roads are smooth. My boys seem to get a good pounding on bumpy roads and I finding myself standing up more with the comfort seat than with the R seat.

If you're looking for a more comfortable seat and you're concerned about the height of the seat, you might want to check out the Luimoto gold gel. With a little bit of work the gel pad will fit into your stock seat and the height will not be affected. If you're not willing to do the work you can send your seat to Luimoto and they'll put the gel pad in the stock seat for you. You'll also need to buy a different seat cover for your stock seat if you go this route. I personally didn't like the extra height of the DP comfort seat so I put the gold gel in my seat. I have no complaints about the gold gel at all.
