Hello everyone.
I just picked up a 2013 1199s and it is due to arrive this Thursday. I have been riding R1's for the past 8yrs but have been lusting after the Panigale since they've hit the street. Just a gorgeous machine!
I'm not a track guy, more of a street and leisure rider. I've been interested on taking the bike cross country.
Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

I've been checking out this forum to see what others thought and felt about the bike.
I got the bike from Seattle Ducati and it's being shipped here to Chicago.
It has about 24 miles on it and I believe it was the show bike for the dealership.
Anything I need to watch out for?
Anything I need to be sure to do?
Anyone in the Chicago land area?
I look forward to reading your comments.
See you guys out there!

Congratulations and welcome.

Talk to Antihero if your interested in traveling across the country.

It might be awhile before he can respond since he's just started his newest adventure traveling across the world on the a Panigale.

Thanks for the tip! I thought about that and had the dealer install the comfort seat before the bike shipped.
I'll have pics up as soon as it arrives!!

New to the forum, and new to having Ducati. Bought bike I been waiting years for, and first week with it has been interesting. But looking forward to weekends in the mountains with my thigh heater :).

Also have another big bore twin, in the RC51, so similar feel but ohh so much different with another 70 hp.

Looking forward to enjoying the ride............

Congrats. Did you get it from motor works chicago? What color did you get?

Congrat's and welcome to the Ducati family. Just make sure they do the complete once over on it before shipping it to you and ask them to place the check list in their for you and remind them to place your back seat in the crate also cause they tend to forget...
if ever you get out, hit the Dragon trail, a nice ride.

Just check bolts everywhere, I lost a fastener on the rear Cyl carbon heat shield, & later 1 on the alloy cover plate for the Termignoni, others noticed the shifter linkage bolts loosening. Remove the Charcoal Canister

whats your thoughts so far? I also have had zx10's my whole life and recently got one as well ( I'm about 2 hours from chicago). Its very different!
