Guys

Just picked up my new Panigale R - AND F$$$ ME HOW AMAZING :)

but my insurance demand I have a disk lock attached whenever I leave the bike.

Can I ask if any of you have disk locks and which ones but more importantly where in the hell are you keeping a disk lock on the bike :)

thanks

Phill

You'll hate my answer, but put it in your jacket pocket, get a kriega US 5 and strap it to the tail, or carry the key and be like...yeah there was a disc lock on the bike when it was stolen!

I went with Ducati insurance. I had to have a tracker, nothing more, £700 for the year, 35 yrs, offshore worker(!), 3 points for speeding.

I put mine under the rear seat cowl with foam tape to keep it from moving around.

I like the Abus 8077. It fits under seat (use the case so it doesn't scratch)

That is the exact lock I have. It fits under the rear seat cowl. It will not fit with the passenger seat.

What the hell is a disk lock going to do? Two guys, a van, 10 secs or less.....

+1
a good motorcycle chain around a pole or something similar would be a lot better. And, it can be carried in a backpack.

I've got a Xena alarm disc lock. It's loud enough to wake the dead. Gonna check to see if it fits in my tail right now.

yep, it fits in my 1299 tail, no problem (the Xena alarm is bigger than the non-alarm Xena). Even still have room for my microfiber cloth lol. Definitely would want to wrap it so it doesn't bang about back there.

Just don't try riding off without undoing the disc lock. Very easy to forget it's there, and it's very funny for bystanders as you suddenly stop and dump your bike. Not so funny for you though. And yes, I'm speaking from experience....

Phill best by far is road angel bike track was abt £299 fitted and £99 per annum ( bought 3 yr discounted rate) it calls and texts you if batt low, if bike moves withou key, if lean angle too low ie you have hit the deck you next of kin or your named contacts get phone call. I should call ur insurer assume Ducati ask if tracker added can you dispense with disc lock as its a danger to carry on your person! The underwriter may agree !
Bye the way I rent a place each year at Aberchalder Nr Fort Augustus ( friends with Miles and the Hunter/ Derek off Ducati up North you may know them)
Might see you in ur lovely Highlands!
Regards
Carole
