Hi,

Went in for my up-map upgrade today (which can i say makes the bike about 100x times better if that is even possible). However on the ride home i notice my right indicator was not working (did not flash on the dash or turn on the indicator on the bike)

Went back to the dealer, and said they had received a letter from Ducati stating that this is a known issue however at this time they are unsure what causes the problem. if the problem continues they will replace the indicator switch on the handle bars.

They are ordering one in for mine, fingers cross it doesn't take too long to arrive.

What i found disappointing was i did not receive any letter from Ducati regarding this problem, nor did Ducati or the dealership inform me the up-map was available i had to go in and ask every few weeks

I read of this same problem on a different thread. Try searching. I thought the had to replace the display? Or one of the ecu's? Sorry, I don't remember and I know I don't have the exact details. I do remember some people saying that their mileage was reset back to zero.

I do not think the indicator problem has anything to do with the map upgrade, right?
I did see other members having issues with turn signal switches and needing replacement. hope they get it done for you soon. GL

definitely not related to the up-map. just happen to happen at the same time

But it wasnt a problem when you brought it in was it? Always found it odd when you leave with small issues that were working fine before they put it on the lift. I have not heard anything about indicator light problems at all.

You seriously think the performance is 100x different than before? Not sure I'd go that far but it does seem to flow smoother now, not a huge upgrade. But then again I went one up on my rear sprocket so it will be hard to tell what changed what.

Any indicator issues seem to stem from condensation beneath the dash. Duc will replace it foc, but you'll lose your current mileage.

A lot of guys have had this issue- it's not related to the upmap. The problem is with the dash, not the handlebar switches either. Ducati released an updated dash about 4-6 months back to fix this problem. I had my new dash put in around christmas, so I can't speak to the longevity of the fix. But replacing the dash does fix the problem.

Thanks guys :) They have order me in the part i guess i just hope they have it in stock in australia...

hmmm lose your km interesting wonder if ducati keep a record of it

There's a lot of speculation that it's related to up-map updates, but it's going to be tough to prove. At the moment they believe the cause of the problem is the ECU in the TFT display. Therefore, the display must be replaced. I had mine replaced a couple of weeks ago and so far so good. However, others have reported the problem will eventually return.

Its nothing to do with condensation its a software issue

By chance did you have the factory/stock turn signals?

Chicago Motorwerks told me can't really help since I have aftermarket Rizoma turn signals...AND it's very intermittent... :(

Total BS! I have aftermarket rear LED turn signals and my dealer never mentioned it. I take they back, they did mention it. Said they really liked them and asked where I got'em. :)

If you have the same problem as everyone else, it's easy to reproduce for the dealer. The turn signals will work for about 10-15 min, then stop. If you reset the dash (turn the key off and on), the turn signals will work again for 10-15 min. I would check with other dealers, if you have any nearby, to find someone familiar with this problem. My dealer ordered a new dash without even seeing my bike because he and ducati are well aware of the problem. I guess you can also put the old signals back on. Hope it works out for you.

You will have more bottom and mid power but you will lose 2.5% Top End, Before i had 15 front 38 rear and it gain 2 miles up on top, But as i was reading your ECU reflash post with that ECU Reflash you my go faster up on Top with 15F 38R sprocket, And i wanted to ask you did you ask Redline To raise the R.P.M up on top.

I had this happen for the first time (after 10,000km) the day the upmap was added - it's related!

Good news is that it isn't a permanent thing - when I started the bike it was working again and hasn't happened since. (That I noticed)

Bad news is that the one time it happens and my indicator doesn't work and a car hits me it will be hard to prove what happened.

I would expect a warranty fix.

Interesting, i drove mine this morning and they worked perfectly then stop then started then stopped :( Sometimes they will work after switching the bike on and off other times it doesn't help. Hoping the new dash won't take too long to arrive

Had it happen once. Turned the key to the off position and then back on and it worked fine. No ECU flash yet.
