Installed Blip Box. Doesn’t work.

Anyone successfully install the Blip Box on their 959? Did it work right out of the box?

I installed mine a week ago and the system is not working. I made all connections; blip box module, throttle, load cell, CAN line. I have no errors on the dash. DQS is enabled and showing on the dash. Start up LED sequence on the module is perfect.

I installed it on both my CNC Racing rearset in both standard and GP Shift, as well as with the stock rearset. The Blip Box unit is receiving signal from the load cell on downshift but is receiving no activity on upshifts. As a result I have no quick shifter functionality. Any ideas?

Is QS on ?, setup in the Dash
How is your shift linkage, Standard or Reverse ?
Do you have the WinBlip SW and cable, then it is pretty easy to see whats the problem

DQS is enabled. I tried both standard and gp shift linkage as well as different shift rod lengths. Tried the stock rear set. No luck.

I didn’t get the cable yet because it’s supposed to work out of the box when you purchase specifically for your Ducati model, which I did. I planned to buy the cable once I tried it out and seeing if I felt I needed to make adjustments.

I think you are right.
I think you've double checked the connections to the load cell

Double checked everything again last night as I was uninstalling it. Put the stock QS back on and it’s working fine. I can’t imagine the Blip Box load cell requires much more force than the stock QS. Blip Box is in the Mail going back to the vendor. Probably won’t have a new one before track season ends here on the east coast, which sucks.

Have one on my bike, and it worked out of the box. You are correct that it does not require any additional force to shift that I noticed. The only real difference in operation is to ensure you are above the minimum RPM required for the up/down shift and you are completely Off the throttle for the downshift.

Thanks for the reply Jimmy. What rearsets you running?

Stock rearsets currently. Looking to upgrade over winter to be able to raise the pegs a little.

You're trying to connect to the wrong socket/connector. The plug on the left is for the left bar control/signal switch.

The install manual from BSD is pretty straightforward and has pictures for reference.

Forgot to update this thread. I was able to figure out the issue. Mick from Blipbox sent me out the cable to connect to PC and when I connected the software I was able to find out that when they programmed this unit they had a typo in the upshift threshold setting, and it was applied to a batch of units they programmed along with this one. Apparently in the laptop they use to program the units they typed 2950mv instead of 1950mv, which made the load cell require too much voltage/force to shift.

So my advice when you buy this kit is to just get the data cable, even if you think you don’t need it, as I did.
