Installed Brembo GP4-RX and other goodies

The lightechs has awesome and easy adjustments. According to the instructions there is 6 position on the trac system plus you can could swap the foot peg and mounting screw which gives you a total of 8. I got kind of confused because I thought that would make it 12 but when you swap the foot peg and mounting screw there is only two holes that you could mount it to.

I have mine set on the second to the lowest setting (I'm 6'0'' with a 32" inseam) and it seems to be the most comfortable with canyon and street riding for me. I don't feel cramped at all. For the track I like mine to be up and back which keeps you more in the tucked position.

There are very few aftermarket rearsets that I know of will place your foot position the same as the stock. Most will lift and sweep it back for track riding. If you put the lightech on the lowest setting on their trac system and swap the foot peg with the mounting bolt it seems to be very close to the OEM position if not the same.

I hope that helps.

Thanks, I ordered a set last week and you help to affirm my choice. Can hardly wait to try them out.

Did you install yourself and if so, anything I need to look for?

Installed them myself. Few tips

1. When you install the banjo bolt brake switch (if you choose to use it). You can bleed the rear brakes per some of the instructions on the forum because its a pain in the Ass. Some recommend lifting the caliper above the M/C then bleed because air wants to go up not down through the bleeder valve. - I've learned a few tricks from a mechanic who called me crazy for lifting the caliper above the rear M/C. His tip was to bleed it at the banjo bolt then at the bleeder valve without removing the caliper. It worked great. a few pumps and your good to go.

2) Splice the banjo bolt wires into the old Brake switch wires that way you don't have to modify the "Bike side wire harness". the old switches are cheap if you every wanted replace it to stock.

3) Getting the gear shift lever to the height/angle where you want it at is a pain in the ass on the Pani because of the tight fit of the shift rod. Not much room to swing a open end wrench and the bolt that goes into the eyelet on the rod is a pain to attach to the rearset because there is no room to swing an Allen wrench. I recommend you adjust lever position first before you put on CF heel guard and securing all the hardware.

4) Blue loctite on all the Ti bolts in fact all the bolts they're expensive to replace.

Thanks,

I should own stock in Blue lock tight as I am a firm believer in this stuff.

Wondering why it would be necessary to bleed brakes?

you have to remove the banjo bolt from the rear brake master cylinder to install the banjo brake light switch. once you crack open the line air gets in.

Finally found some time last Friday to go over to Galfers to get custom brake lines installed. They have been asking me to come over for a while so that can measure/fit/write and take pictures for their install procedures for different setups on the Panigale for their brakes lines and rotors, etc. It was an all day thing and Robert at Galfers convinced me to go with the GP Lines. He said they will give you a better feel on the levers (tighter) and power. The GP setup actually does give better feel and power and I highly recommend the GP set up if you are looking to upgrade your brake lines. They also threw in a new clutch lines, rear brake lines and quick disconnects but I didn't want them installed just yet. In a couple of weeks I have to bring my bike and my M50's back so they can take pictures with the OEM set up.

Here is a few pics I decided on Black lines with a red Banjo

Scrapper, where'd you source your clear reservoir lines and who makes them? Do they weep at all? Thanks man! Your bike is looking PIMP!

Yep, on dash number two from that happening! Hey, do you know anybody making a nice plug for the rear line to eliminate the rear reservoir? Thanks brotha!

Hey guys,

I am riding a 2013 1199R.

Want to check with you guys if i want to install GP4-RX Calipers with T-Drive Rotors, Z-04 Pads and Billet Master Cylinder Set.

What do i need to add on? As i don't think that between handlebar and head cowl have enough space for the MC.

Do i need to disable the ABS too?

Thanks!
