Interesting... Ducati in general

It has been posted but imho, pretty non-scientific in the method. There is no analysis of what is in it such as clutch material. There are inconsistencies on how the the engines where run-in by different riders. Plus the fact that different oils have different colors such as fresh Brad Penn is green (from the old Kendal derrick in PA).

Still disturbing... I've sent it to my dealer. Regards!

Been around the brand for 6 years coming from Japanese brands. From my experience and “just my opinion”
1 Styling, top notch
2 Finish and figment, great
3 Mechanical Design, innovative
4 Mechanical components, nice (mag covers) to junk (the rest) (so far all of the cases I have purchased or played with came with cooked main bearings)
5 Fasteners and hardware, junk
6 Electronics, neat but worthless for 95% of buyers
7 Electrical system/components, smelly junk
8 Maintenance considerations, really smelly junk with a healthy dose of WTF were you thinking.
9 Service, decent to non existent depending.
10 Branding hype, top notch
11 Our .... doesn’t stink meter, (you should be privileged to have the bike you’re paying for sit in our service shop indefinitely)1-10 = 8
12 Racer Support/contingency, non existent

so in other words just another motorbike then?

Yes sir except for the fact that this particular motorcycle company is especially ...... with regard to value. The cost of parts and service is on another planet compared to other brands.
If you own one of these financial disasters waiting to happen, do the smart thing and sell it before the warranty expires.
Just an example of cost of parts should you need them. Prices are from AMS Ducati Dallas
1 new cylinder liner for 1199/1299 $1500.00
1 new piston for 1199/1299 $1200.00
1 new crankshaft 1199-1299 $5200.00
1 plain Jane standard con rod $759.00

These prices are not even remotely sane. Something seriously wrong with the mindset that says “this is what our customers should pay for owning a prestigious brand”

The rods are not plain jane...

They debur and polish them at the factory

Maybe they should shot peen them too?

Or make them out of German instead of Chinese beer cans?

I say plain Jane as opposed to posting the cost of the Ti rods in the Rs. In contrast a new set of 4 Carrillo Hbeams for the R1 are $1100.00.

No I get it. Was just screwing around

ALL their parts are overpriced

Most of them WAY overpriced

Did you expect them not to be?

The mafia squeezes money outta everyone on their turf...

Wow that rod is beautiful well I am sold guess we all better send our motors to Don to have torn down and rebuilt.
I unmuted you to see what you said and am glad I did. So Mick, you see the broken rod and you see where it broke. What causes a steel connecting rod to break like that???

Which actual models did they test? I can't watch that guy for more than 5 seconds. He annoys the living crap out out of me.

Sadly that is the truth, the good news is that... hang on there isn't any good news!

Basically its a case of buying the minimum required new OEM parts, and going aftermarket where possible.

And the "junk" won the MotoGP today ... again! ??? A lot of bashing of what percentage of Ducatis?? If they are SO BAD, why do they sell so well? Are we talking yester-year or current bikes??
