Is DP CF Heat Shield same fitment as OEM?

No, if you had a small shield on a stock system, you would have a recall upgrade that got you the double.

That would apply to 12's

The 13's came stock with the double, I believe.

Now that I look at mine, it looks like there's a liner under the shield. I think that's what smells like it's burning sometimes haha. If my '14 has this "double shield" form factory, it does NOT help with the heat haha.

take it off and then roast lol. :D

My full termi with the small single CF shield was atrocious and much hotter then stock when pushing the bike

My '14 had an issue where the exhaust piping under the seat had a bad seal, or the piping wasn't matching up properly, and exhaust heat and fumes were blowing past it causing the rubber grommets and fiberglass insulating washers to melt.

I didn't know it until I went to put on my DP CF heat shield and you're supposed to transfer that hardware over...well my rubber grommets were melted and fiberglass washers cracked. So when I went to the dealer to get new hardware, (which by the way, you can't get, its hardware that only comes with the heat shield) the service manager looked at my factory heat shield and said "you have bigger problems than melted grommets" So i took the bike in and they had to put all new piping in under warranty.

Is that maybe what you're smelling? Could be worth a look
