He isn't a master tech as far as I know, but there was a tech at Ducati Seattle before it shut down that said he was sent to Italy and basically tore down a V4 to every last bolt. I believed him, as he knew way more about the platform on day 1 than most techs I've spoken with since then multiple years later. He was a lifesaver, as he taught me all the electronic tricks on how to hard reset the computer and whatnot, stuff that's hidden away in obscurity and kept from the common folk.
There's another guy in the PNW who is definitely a master tech, previously worked at the old Ducati Redmond and now has his own shop Redmond Motorsports. His name is Bill. Great dude and extremely knowledgeable with a very long racing team technician lineage.
I'm not too fond of my local techs out here in San Diego, but I don't rely on them anyways. I just bought a new motorcycle the other day and they did an absolute .... job at performing the PDI. Brakes were full of air, either not bled or bled like ...., and had a few things just flapping off. Now I gotta spend time and basically do my own damn PDI even though they charged me for the one they supposedly did.
So yeah. I don't really trust dealerships with anything but mounting my tires. Even then, I check the pressures afterward.
