I installed the dda+ and gps sensor and it looks to be acquiring GPS position from what I see on the dash. When I turn the bike on, I go into Menu, Lap, and turn it to ON. Is there something else that needs to be done to make it work on the 899.

I'm assuming the headlights are also the trigger on this bike as well since that is what I do on my 1199.

That should be all you need to do, yes the "flash to pass" trigger will set the start/finish line position.

ok...I will try using the DDA+ from my R on the 899 to see if it works and conversely put the 'bad' one on my 1199R to see if it works there.
