So today the red devil of heat got tamed a bit. It got Termignoni full manifold that I sent off to get the 1300 Jet Hot coating with Titanium finish. I even got the heat shield under the carbon, and the muffler guards coated. Then they got put on with black screws instead of silver, for contrast.

Rode today, 77-82 degrees. Got to 120 a few times at stoplights. I actually not only noticed a lack of heat, I felt more on my left leg than right. Completely strange. I am not totally converted to the big carbon shield yet, but in a month or two I will give my results in 99 degree weather and at a stop light, fan full on at 120 degrees. But"¦The results are promising

Looks great!

Are you going to add the 2014 heat shields on the sides of the rear cylinder head?

Looks really good, thx for posting. Esp the 2nd & 3rd pix - looks like nice black satin finish. Wait, why is the fan "full on at 120 degrees?"

I wrapped my full termi just on the loop under the seat, with the new CF heatshield installed and the heat was much better on the butt.

But, just a little around the 200 mark. Just hot, not really hot like it was before.

I think he meant "220 deg."

I did the full system with black ceramic coating, the new bigger heat shield, and the rear head shields and the bike is much better in the heat as I rode it all last summer with no problem.

The first summer I had the bike you could barely ride as it fried and blistered you legs.

Yup, I meant 220. oops.

No, I am not adding the new cylinder head heat shields. It just makes it look too "manufactured" and like the 2013 GSXR. Kinda looks robotic instead of sleek and mechanical. I like complex mechanical. I really don't find the cylinder head to annoy me. The stock exhaust was kinda toasty but man the .... up and its not unbearable. The ceramic looks good (In my worthless opinion) and does make it cool down way faster. I was astonished at how fast I could wash the bike after a ride. Its WAY cooler than the pipes in 3/4 less time.

I am going to take pics tomm and post them without the rotating drama. I hope it gives people an informed decision on doing it or not. I took a chance with a different color (Titanium) and REALLLLLLY like it. Black looks cool too. They also have light silver.

I had my Termignonimanifolds and Termignoni slip ons power koted inside and outside (ceramic coating) done by Powerkote -http://www.powerkote.co.za/Products.html - and am very happy with the results. I will still add a bit of heat shielding on the right side though... :D

Hmm the forum software is not designed to rotate the pictures upon upload.

Can you please email the original picture - admin at ducati1199 dot com - and I'll see if I can reproduce what's going on because yeah, that would annoy me too.

Where did you get the work done and how much was it? Looks great!

Jet Hot did it:

Jet-Hot Ceramic Coatings

The 1300 coating:

Jet-Hot Extreme 1300 | Jet-Hot High Performance Coatings

In Titanium :

New Premium Colors | Jet-Hot High Performance Coatings

A nice lady named Debbie helped me. Ask for her, we discussed the project for a while on the phone. She knew her stuff.

(I added the new pics I took to this post and this is how they uploaded, I left them on just because its funny to me now)

+1

Definitely looks cool, never seen the Titanium colored option. So how much and what was the turn-around time?

$365.00, but I added the shields which was 45.00. So for just the exhaust it would have been 325.00 including return shipping.

Would have been seven to ten days, but one of the parts (I assume the muffler cover) didn't come out of inspection right and they recoated it.

Nola...did you forward the pics to admin at ducati1199 dot com as requested?? We are trying to troubleshoot this issue... Thanks!!

Jet-Hot is doing the exhaust on my Paul Smart - going for the 'polished' premium color and will probably do the same on the Tri when I pull the trigger on the bike....
