My 991 cup holder worked fine even with heavy bottles. The F12 though…typical Italian job :(

Oops, typo… I meant 991 🤣 In a F12 I think you would need a drink… something strong to calm your nerves.

I wouldn’t expect too much from Toprak, I don’t think that BMW can do it.

I dunno man, that video that somebody posted here with the BMW going 2 seconds a lap faster than the V4 with a decent rider is living rent free in my head. Granted that’s an extremely small data set to go by, but still…

.... how can you be serious talking about that video.

Watch it again, mid video they show a track full of autumn leaves after one of corners.

It's a stupid media PR nothing else.

? It’s not even the same motor that Ducati races. Assume you’re talking about the mcn video?

look at the track

how can you take this video seriously ?

There are few if any actual quotes in context in this article. It's typical media hyping a few words to make it sound like a fight is on. It's stories left to our imagination.
"Rea expressed skepticism about the impact of this weight penalty, believing that Bautista’s fitness and Ducati’s capabilities would allow them to remain competitive."
I mean, are they suggesting Ducati should be arbitrarily penalized to the point of not being competitive or is Rea just lamenting he's got work to do and the 7 kilos is not a big thing? I think the latter.

I4's turn harder because there's more weight on the front wheel. Watch Toprack's ability in any race to run a tighter line than Bautista. To penalize Ducati with 7 Kg will lower corner speed. The 7 Kg means little when you're on the gas and in the wind. ........ ruling.

Accelerating 15 extra lbs is not an easy feat and then that’s an extra 15 lbs to stop. Will be harder on the tires. Alvaro wasn’t too happy with the post season test with that extra weight.

If I was him I’d put all that weight on by muscle. Dude will be a fit beast 15 lbs heavier

Like Vbreeze is saying, these news outlets are going to sensationalize these remarks a little to get the clicks

The difference between Bez and Frankie M. is 7 Kg's. As the metallurgy continues to improve Ducati's ability to whack the rocker arm harder to get greater valve acceleration (and more HP) will continue. Ducati broke a lot of rocker arms to get here. Somewhere Dr. T is smiling. ........ ruling.

If I were ducati I'd fill the front axle with mallory metal, run copper radiators, etc. Concentrate the weight on the front axle. Change the springs, valving to suit and decrease the wings angle relative to the new front weight and get more top end speed. Unfortunately, I suspect there's also a rule against clever engineering here.

I’d just put some tungsten in the belly pan for ballast or as a heat shield. Wouldn’t add unsprung weight
