Hey everyone
I've been in stalking this forum for a couple months now, and learning from all of your wisdom and experience.

After 7 years of lusting over Ducati bikes I have finally popped my cherry, and picked up a beautiful 2012 1199S for my first street bike.

I am extremely happy with the performance of the bike, and how naturally comfortable I've felt on it despite it's relentless power.

If anyone is looking for a riding partner in LA area hit me up for the weekends!

I just moved to Torrance three months ago from San Diego.
Still exploring and getting the feel for the area when I have any free time.

Yea Dudes!
This weekend I'll be down in San Diego, but maybe next weekend?
My roommate has a Diavel, so we could definitely expand our little club!

Welcome to the Southbay. We are a short ride away from some awesome twisties. Angeles Crest, Mulholland, Scenic PV, GMR, further south, Ortega HWY, Palomar mtn, and further north, Ojai.

Actually Mulholland/Malibu is a group of twisties. Glad we're neighbors, hit me up when you have some time to ride.

Hi Shayne,

I'm looking at a used one too, so would you mind how much did you pay for it. Do you know if there is a way to make it run smoother and gain more tq in the mid range? I hope I'll be adding one more bike whether it's a Panigale or Diavel soon.

Thanks,
Sam

Ilmostro, For sure next Sunday I'll be down!

LABoy78, you can get a used 1199S for between 14-20,000 depending on year/condition/color/private or dealer.

I'm quite new at this bike but I'm pretty confident that the UpMap that came with my Termignoni exhaust definitely smoothed out the low and midrange power, as well as added a little kick up top. Do some searching and you'll find much more knowledgeable owners than I on this site.

My roommates Diavel is MUCH more comfortable than the Panigale. It's like riding a rocket powered couch, and the heat is much more tolerable. On the other hand my 1199s is lighter, more maneuverable, and comes with quite a few extra bells, and whistles.
