Bike Magazine contacted me about six weeks back and asked if I'd write an article for them about my cross country trip on my S. Though I wrote an article for RideApart several months back, I'd never written anything for print and never worked with an editor. Great experience, but also quite a bit more stressful than posting online.

In college I read Bike and Fast Bikes for years. Their journalistic style is a refreshingly different than what we typically see out of the moto mags here in America. If you've never read anything from the UK, pick up a copy sometime (if ya can't find a Barnes and Noble, you can buy in iTunes Newsstand).

In any case, hope I've represented us in a positive light and have done my part in helping to change the negative perceptions non-Ducati owners have of Ducati and Ducatisti (misconceptions about rideability and reliability, Starbucks/Poseur jokes, etc.).

(Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for the inaccuracy of the map or for the edits that led to a couple of grammar/punctuation oversights!)

Awesome!!!! Dennis you are are real legend...

Nice job Denis! That's a great magazine to be able to write an article. I read it almost every time I go to BnN while my wife shops.

That's incredible, I didn't realize how much your trip had actually led to - all the different people, stops, experiences, and the benefits you received afterwards from Ducati. Great job!

...now, was it worth all the money you're now paying the chiropractor? Hahaha jk :)

Thanks, guys. Never thought following (and sharing) a dream of mine would lead to the fulfillment of other dreams, some of which I never would have imagined. We miss 100% of the shots we don't take, right?

As for the chiropractor--Thanks to a drunk driver, I have a degenerative spinal condition for the past 25 or so years. The bike is better therapy than any treatment I've undergone yet. Now I just need to convince my health insurance carrier to cover a new R. :)

Antihero, this is going to sound like I'm kissing your ..., but I love reading everything you write. Not sure if it's unexpected direction of the article, I just don't want it to end. Please keep it up...and thanks, your trip helped me decide to buy my 1199s. Being my first Ducati, I was apprehensive going from my old reliable Japanese motorcycle to an Italian supermodel. I've run into the typical warranty issues ( minor oil leak, minor coolant leak, tsb-881 harness install, bleeding the clutch ever 1000 miles, exhaust shield cooking its rubber mounts). I LOVE THIS BIKE!!! Thanks again...

I was educated n served while I was in the UK........so u would know........I love their bike mags.........very much .......ar........like TopGear........

Great article, congrats. So did you pickup a new R already? How ,any miles did you end up with on the S?

Thanks for posting the article. Good stuff.

Enjoyed the part about the Harley guys, the storm and the overpass. :D

I completely agree with the UK vibe. I have been paying from two to three times the usual cover price to buy UK car and bike magazines in Canada. Worth every penny though.

Like many others I followed AH on his ride via the internet - all 133 pages. Anyone who hasn't seen this and chooses to can just scroll down to his post and click on "Coast to Coast on a Panigale Ride Report". The write up on his R experience at CotA, compliments of Ducati, is also one of the best out there.

Amazing, inspiring, awesome.... just a few words that come to mind. A++++ my friend!

P.S. you'll love the R
