Lightech Rearsets Review and pics.

Okay, first off, I have spent more time modifying and upgrading things on this thing than riding it, next stop get a place out ehre to use for twisty testing on these. But so far I have some pics and details about the new Lightech rearsets that were just made available.

(I will get daylight photos up later, its late but I know you guys have probably been waiting.)

They look great on the bike. So proud for keeping this thing simple.

So here are some close ups.

Fitment: 10/10 - Everything fit into place as it should.

Aesthetics: 9/10 - I like the glossy Gilles Tooling, but the Anodized black isn't bad at all. They still look gorgeous.

Feel 9/10 - Very grippy on my boots, just like I feel. In highest settings, they sit about an inch higher. No complaints here. Wouldn't mind more coarse teeth on the pegs.

Ease of assembly 10/10 - Very easy, it was more of a pain in the ass to get the stockers off. Hardest part is running the brake light switch they provide, requires removal of upper right fairing.

Any questions just ask.

I don't mean to start a whole nother discussion, but what's the take on reverse shift? Is it preferred for rracing, or just in general? These do look as sweet as the Riz, maybe better.

For me it is a personal preference thing. I find it more natural to stamp down to go up a gear. On the quick shifter it is awsome.

From my track days, it was always safer when exiting a left corner to press down rather than put my foot under the lever and thereby risk grounding something.

That's what I was thinking. So if you purchase the reverse shift, do you need to get the reverse shift kit from Ducati as well? Or is everything included?

Yes, it is much easier and less risky.

For me, GP shift is more of a time saving thing. I'm rarely, if ever, doing any kind of shifting at heavy lean so clearance isn't much of any issue. Although the Pani rearsets are set waay too low stock so definitely could be a potential issue even at lesser lean angles. For me, it's just a lot faster to get a good drive and acceleration by stomping on the pedal with the DQS. I almost feel like its cheating...not that I feel guilty in any way.

I am thinking I would need a set for my Beemer too, as switching bike-to-bike, you might slip up and push down instead of up and vice versa :) And do you have to get the Ducati reverse kit ($379) if you get an after market reverse rear set?
