If it was integrated into the helmet with clean lines maybe, but as it stands it looks like someone's niece/nephew hit their helmet with a luminescent crayon.

The study they quote says white helmets are 24% safer than black ones...or something like that. I wonder how much safer a white one is than a black one, when a HEADLIGHT is blinding both judges:rolleyes:

<bump>

Just curious if anyone here actually went for this (it being 10x overfunded and all), and if so how it panned out.

I remain skeptical of its durability (and whether or not it could ever actually look like it belonged), but I like the concept.

Wonder if some manufacturers will try to integrate lighting into helmets? Are there any that have used reflective in their designs? I've not seen any that I can think of, but I've also not been in the market for one.

First of all, attaching a gopro to your chin bar is a stupid place to stick anything that'll compromise the integrity of the helmet. There's an article that theorizes Schumacher's skiing accident was exacerbated by the gopro attached to his ski helmet that caused it to crack in that very same spot. I wouldn't want some stick on lights, battery pack, and a switch on a helmet catching on anything if I went down.

Secondly, I would think your clothing or motorcycle itself is a much better place for this stuff if you really wanted to be illuminated.

Lastly, reflective strips on clothing glow very bright when lights are shined upon them.

I don't see the point of this at all except to look like a dork.
