Just wanted to say 'hey' and introduce myself to your forum.

I've just put a deposit down on my first Duc (but I'm not stranger to exotic Italian bikes, my last bike being an MV F4 1000 Senna).

If any of you live in the NY area maybe we can all go for a whip some time.

George - nice! West side! holla! :)

I'm due south of you, in the West Village. You keep all of those bikes in Manhattan?? (If so, where...

You guys ever go to the Ear Inn on Tuesdays? I haven't been in about 5 years, but that was generally an interesting place to check out local wheels (and get beer while doing so)

yes i go there quite a bit and if looking for parking try Ryders Alley, Demian is a great guy.

Regan, do you keep your bike at Ryders and then "commute" to it every time you want to ride? I really like the setup they have there (from what I can tell from their site), but it seems like a pain in the ... to have to trek 20+ minutes each way to/fro your bike.

Yes, but i can keep all my stuff there and they organize alot of track days etc. Also i won't keep my bikes on the street or in a public garage and the security in Ryders Alley is very good,

But agree it can be a PITA when i want to go out for a quick blast but i should add i don't ride around the city on my bike as for me its too much of an inconvenience.

I was wondering about the security... I've had good luck with 24hr garages, because I'm usually the only bike in it, and I park it myself tucked away somewhere in a corner, etc.

At a place like Ryders, where everyone is presumably an enthusiast, what keeps people from walking over and ogling/poking/trying-on-your-saddle-for-size with your bike when you're not around? Especially if it is an exotic (e.g. Desmo)

security is great, there are cameras everywhere and the place is full of enthusiast so they know better than to sit on your bike or move it without permission.

Drop me a PM if you want to know more.

Congrats and welcome to the forum. What did you get?

I figured go big or go home... Got myself on the list for the SL, just received confirmation and put the deposit down this past week. Now all I have to do is hurry up and wait!

Welcome! If you're ever in the NJ area/Driscoll Bridge area let me know.
I ride year round (thank you Gerbings) and am always looking to meet up with other Pani owners.

Best of luck on a seamless delivery!
