Head lift, because with the correct stand you can remove the front wheel more easily than with fork lift. My bike is parked nearly half the year in a front wheel chock without any flat spots on the tire, so it's just a matter of how much money you want to spend. It's fine all winter on the kickstand too.
BTW, if you have a Pit Bull stand from a previous Japanese bike like me, be aware that you need the Ducati-specific front stand to access the front axle when lifted by the lower triple. The Japanese stand will lift the bike fine (you need a #28 pin) but you will not be able to access the front axle nut with a socket wrench.
