...My point to this whole thing is if someone spends this kind of money on a bike (or any amount of money for that reason) a dealership shouldn't try to doop or hide stuff. Admitting mistakes goes a lot further.

Id call dealership to start with. See how that goes. If no result call Ducati North America. If u get the right people on the phone they should help you out.

Real question is: what is the outcome your looking for? New tail section? New sticker? Money back?

I personally think there fun hand u a sticker and call it a day. But it worth a few calls

What bothers me is that the dealer did such a shoddy job of covering something up. I don't mind a scratch but that white out paint job would bother me too looking at that!

To be honest I haven't really thought about that. I just want it to look like it's suppose to. I guess I'm borderline OCD because it's really bugging me.

I would take a new sticker if it wasn't for the clear coat.

How do you take delivery of a Ducati (or any other bike for that matter), and not do a once over of the ENTIRE bike????

Who says I didn't?

I guarantee most people miss something. You can't tell me in your entire life you haven't missed something during a once over.

I just noticed it now because I happened to be looking real close in that area during a washing because there was some stuff stuck to that fairing.

Technically it's been in storage for more time than I have owned it. Which probably explains why I hadn't found it earlier.

Of course I am kicking myself for not finding it at delivery...

So I went to the dealership about this today and spoke with a supervisor. His response was "my guys wouldn't do that because the whiteout job looks too good to be done by one of my guys." He basically implied it must have happened at the factory.

Interesting response... I doubt what he thinks but what can I do since it's my fault for nog noticing it immediately.

Anyway, he took a picture and said he was going to submit it to Ducati NA for warranty work but he doesn't know what they'll say. I already know they won't claim that as a warranty issue. But I guess I'll have to wait and see.

I told him I would bet if the whiteout was removed there would be no white on the sticker. I couldn't even finish my sentence before he said I shouldn't do that.

So take it to a good body shop and let them take it off and shoot that area in white and re-clear it. What's it gonna cost? 100...150....flip the guy 2 bills and you'll never worry about it again

All you guys have guns over their, just take the 9mm persuasion tool and wait for the fairing to be swapped with that on a shop bike!

I don't own one and in Hawaii it's impossible to get a concealed carry permit. Maybe if I had a dingo.....

this remembers me to the guy who had that panigale, on the same sticker, same position there was ducati written with double ii.

I have been thinking the same thing...

But out of curiosity anyone know how much that fairing costs?

Good luck getting anything out of Ducati North America.

My bike was bounced around between three dealerships over the span of 5 months due to incompetency from both the dealers and DNA. It was ~2000kms old when I dropped it off and looked mint, and by the time I got it back, it was covered with fine scratches, scuffed paint, stains and even paint chips around the fasteners. I detailed it as much as possible, but I still know where the blemishes are. I contacted DNA about it due to already having a rapport with someone there (from the 5 month debacle) - didn't even get a reply. I know those things were inevitable after enough use, but I just hate that it wasn't me who did any of it!

Hopefully you get better resolution than I did.

That sucks. I'm sorry to hear that. What's even more disappointing is there lack of response to you, let alone the way you gig your bike back.

I'm actually already prepared for the bad news. But I'll give the dealer the week they said they needed. Then I'll call Ducati NA myself. Again I'm not expecting anything but they need to know...
