Lost my second key yesterday working in the yard.

Guess I am screwed with the dealer. Anyone else go through this yet? I had my other in the safe for 6 years. Now this.

Please advise.

Do you still have the key tag? If so, the dealer can get you a new key.

I lost the whole second key while doing yard work. Don't have the key or the plastic tag.
Friggen pissed off.
I had a brain fart and left it in my pocket for some reason. Then she either fell out or I misplaced her somewhere.

Damn!

Not that it helps now. When home it's in a drawer right below where I place my helmet, with gloves and scarf, bike gear in one place. When out I run the helmet strap and secure it.

Oh, thought, how much is a metal detector.? Any tool rental outfits offer them?

If I correctly made sense of the manual, Ducati recommend you use the keys in rotation, so in my case the little plastic tag got stored somewhere safe and not left with either.

Maybe your dealer recorded the tag code?

Yea, I guess the metal detector idea ain't a bad one either.

Full on race bike? Hummm. Now that is an idea!

Seriously, I must talk to the dealer this week. After dumping 3 bags of yard debris and walking all over the place looking in the beds. I am stumped.

If anyone ever loses a key, any key, my friend Dave at Redline can cut a new one, and reset the entire system to accept a new key and that little chip without a problem! If anyone needs his info or an introduction for this (or anything Ducati / Rexxer affiliated) feel free to ping me via PM and I will email him w you cc'd on it too!

Always here to help the membership folks! :)

Gunny, as usual thanks for the info! Contacted the gentleman and now I just need to locate the code card :/

I had one with my 848 but didn't get one so back to the dealer here in Denver to see what the deal is.

Again, thank you very much!

A friend of mine said he was able to get his key replaced (1098) without the key card by going to Ducati and giving them a copy of his registration. Not sure if this is possible with the 1199 since it has the PIN code key system but its worth a call atleast.
