Does anyone have any pointers on how to go about replacing the plastic shower/fuel line side connector with a metal connector?

I've made it this far, but the hose is not very pliable and appears heat shrunk over the stock unit. Any advice by those who have doen this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

2014 1199S for reference.

I believe you use a heat gun. Heat the area surrounding the plastic connector, pull the plastic part out, push the metal connector in and allow to cool. Should be set. Keep a fire extinguisher handy in case I’m wrong.

the diameters fit?
if not, i would get a reducer piece and a short PA tube.
or, better, a connector that fits.

Better yet cut off and throw away the stock fuel lines and install some mill spec high pressure viton race line and some metal fittings. Been running that setup for long time and will never fail.

Then lifts again and still goes 5.60 @ over 150
