mileage???

Help Support Ducati Forum:

I have about 2,600 miles after 86 days of ownership.

I thought the hot start issue was in the past, didn't Ducati release an official fix for it a couple months ago? I saw a couple posts about in on different forums...

I get a hot start here and there. Mostly on very hot days when the bike is smoking hot and i do a quick stop and shut bike down. If I go back withing 15 to 2o mins and attempt to start, I get a hot start. If the bike sits for about 30 mins I don't have the issue. Removing the canister didn't do squat for my hot start :/

you have the 899 though, i wonder if there is something different going on with yours as the 1199 gents said it fixed theirs. curious...

Not sure. I see Sebastian at melillimoto next week for some installation of parts so I'm going to see what his expert opinion is and see if it can be resolved. As everyone says.. He is the guru of Ducati motorcycles.

I'd be very interested in hearing what he says. If I know I'm going to be parked for between 10mins and 45mins, I just crack open my gas cap, but it's a PITA to remember sometimes.

I could swear I read a couple posts saying Ducati had a fix finally...

i'm gonna do the gas cap trick for now if it works for you. Never thought of doing that. Ill send you a PM 92gta if he has a solution to the problem.

Awesome, thanks! Yeah the fuel cap trick works 100% of the time. I'd rather loose a tiny bit of fuel to evaporation than look like a cock on an expensive new bike that won't start without using the throttle to keep it running.

I'd bother my dealer about it but they are a 300 miles round trip and seem to want to keep the bike for anything, I can't afford the time off work or hotel room costs.

I know that feeling. the first time it happened i was so embarrassed.. Brand new bike and having to rev it for 10 seconds just to keep it from choking out lol.

1800 miles in 9 months. Been working too much to ride it :/ But I moved to LA! Way better roads than living in SF

1800mi in 2.5 months of riding. ...... WA weather means I've only been able to turn a wheel in anger once this year.
