Since the medieval, Italian motorcycle manufacturers always use the same Brembo rear brake master cylinders. They only changed the color a couple of times.
They are reliable, expensive and ugly.
If you want to buy a Brembo premium MC product, price starts at USD 650.
The support is moderate and spare parts can not be got. Furthermore, Brembo gladly positions the banjo bolt somewhere else on the cylinder. New hydraulic lines are required
This time I went for a product from Japan: the GaleSpeed rear master brake cylinder.
12mm instead of 13mm piston diameter for a more delicate and controllable touch.
3D CNC milled from a 6061 aluminium block, forged, heat treated, hard anodized and laser engraved. Perfect finish!
The cylinder comes with two different springs and nipples, the rod end has a uniball bearing and the complete Panigale setup is still lighter than OEM.
Same cylinders are used on WSBK bikes.
And the best thing: they cost USD 145.-
For conversion, all you need are some files, drilling bits and sand paper.
I modified the OEM bracket by hand as shown on the pictures below. It also requires a rod extension. I made one for myself out of a little piece of Ti, but you can order them for about 15 bucks.
PS: Sorry for the small size of the pictures. I can't upload bigger ones since the last board upgrade
