I received the correct OEM connectors for the rear brake light.

Pretty easy to crimp the new terminals on the end and plug it all up.

I will say that it's an easy solution to the brake light switch quandary if you are looking at retaining the rear brake light switch. Again though once I delete the abs unit altogether there wont be a rear brake light switch. But for the time being it works like a champ.

Next step will be experimenting with different lever variations. While the current version is the best so far, I do think there is room for improvement.

Well it's been a while and the thumb brake project has been finally sorted. After experimenting with the Brembo PS 13 XA52130

I figured out that it will not work in conjunction with the thumb brake. Too bad because I really like how clean it looks.

So back to the research I went. There are other units out there that also retain the foot controls and Brembo is no exception... Enter the PS13X963730

This uses the thumb brake reservoir allowing the thumb brake and foot brake to be used independently.

Now after receiving it, I was able to complete the 3rd phase of the project, the complete deletion of the ABS module (well almost complete deletion, the circuit board is still there). I went from this,

To this,

Then it was getting some custom brake lines to tie it all together.
Here is the finished product.

For anyone looking to run a thumb brake, There is some clearance issues with the clutch master cylinder if you use the fork tube clamp option. Its not a big deal but it is something to consider. No CEL with the ABS delete but the "ride mode" display on the dash will blink, just the letters, and there is a "-----" in the ABS display box. Everything else looks and functions normal. I did end up deleting the rear brake light switch however a pressure switch could easily be added and plugged directly into the OEM brake light plug for a clean appearance. And yes I also deleted the heat exchanger. I notice no difference at all in temps.
