Some prick has stolen the only ignition key out of my bike. I have a race booked in 2 weeks time and dont know what is needed to start this machine. Just finished rebuilding after a big low side 2 months ago. Pissed off ! Iknow "why would you leave a key in your bike"???

Contact a Ducati dealer with the VIN, they can recreate them. Don't know what else is involved.

I really don't know. I'm sorry. But I lost a key, a while ago, and my dealer said they could do it. It would just take a couple weeks and I would be without the bike. Since it was the beginning of the season, I told them I would get the key made in the fall. So, more to follow. But contact a dealer. They can help. It will take some time, though.

Ok guys, I have found a local electronics company that specialises in key cutting/coding thanks.
The facts are for the panigale series, contrary to what dealerships say is.... some guys here already know. The key is coded in sync with the lock (barrel), nothing more. The lock that is in sync then send the ok message to the ECU to fire up. Dash and ECU aren't involved . There are shops out there that can cut keys to replace without original key and as long as they have the lock they can sync with the key. They should also be able to supply the pin number.

when my 1199 was stolen last year, the thieves just hooked up another ignition and key and rode the bike off.

Otherwise there should be some keyless mods out there

Yep, easy when you know how, grab the loom going down from the lock infront of the fuel tank and unplug , plug in another lock and key from any Pani and shes yours.

Calderara, Might be a good idea to delete post 10 so bad people dont get ideas...
