Both 2025 riders crashed in the sprint... think Marquez rejoined. Just seems like these bikes are too much to handle once the limit is breached and they always seem surprised when it is.

I think the engine development has outpaced tire development in recent years. I'm sure there's a ton of talking points there, but I doubt it's anything new. There's always some issue, some problem, some drama.

As long as lap times keep dropping I don't know if it matters.

Pecco and Marc crashed for different reasons

Mat explains it here very thoroughly

Pecco crashed in his favorite turn after setting the fastest lap before, likely asking too much

Marc has struggled with Hard compound and crashed in first left hander after a series of rights

Pecco got lucky today. Seemed like that could have been a lot worse for him. Also seemed like a bike hit Alex at the end.

I dont know what happened to Pecco this weekend.
Everyone keeps saying Aragon has tricky tarmac (due to heavy rains there) and it rain a lot overnight.
He failed to launch Ducati 2 times in the row. Bastianni - no pace.
It feels like both can only really ride in perfect sunny conditions.

Crash is horrible, glad Pecco walked away not harmed.

The level of his aggressiveness is becoming quite worrying tho. He took Marc out in Portimao.

Seems like a tire issue. the announcers said he was pointing at the Michelin mechanic after the sprint race (they seemed to think tires too). Also he was on the dirty side of the track and spinning out at both starts. Probably had a flat patch too yesterday after that spin out.

Edit: Kind of agree w Marc though. Going around the outside and then cutting back in was not the smartest

Pecco is a bit whiny when he's losing, very unchampionlike. First its tires, then it's saying Alex deliberately taking him out. He need to pull his head in a bit and HTFU.
Whatever the the Marc haters say, Marc never or very rarely bags other riders, even when he gets bowled by their mistakes. Pecco was way to optiomistic on his overtake with AM for the crappy track conditions, it may have worked on another day but its just a racing incident as the stewards have ruled.

I watched it 100x

Pecca leans on his wheel and that’s what stands the bike up. It would have been a double low side probably if the contact wasn’t on the wheel. I think they were both being calculated and aggressive not minding contact in the turn. It just went south fast.

AM drove the front wheel into Pecco.

Pecco said he went back and looked at the data. AM was opening the throttle and kept it open after the first initial contact.

I don't agree that Pecco is being whiny. That's an odd thought considering he's responding to a direct question from an interviewer.

He certainly hasn't gone for the brake as the bike came up and his throttle hand does not look like he is shutting the throttle off - quite the opposite. Obviously it could easily be down to the situation, getting thrown around on the bike, but Pecco said he heard AM accelerate and that the data shows this.

Odd.

The overtaking rider is responsible for completing the overtake safely. Unless Alex did something grossly unsafe like change line mid corner, lose the front, or intentionally push Bagnaia wide, he is blameless.

Alex was on the inside and remained on his line. Bagnaia cut across too sharply initiating contact.

Not only is Alex not obligated to surrender the position to avoid contact the overtaking rider is initiating, but also Alex is hanging off the bike to the right - his vision to the left side of the bike is at least partially obscured.

IF Alex was opening throttle (big if until he or
Ducats publicly validate that from the data), then who’s to say it wasn’t caused by the impact?
