It's a pretty dull series at the moment, the halcyon days of the aliens battling on pre F1 style bikes are missed. I get the tech but for me its taken a wrong turn, looking forward to 26 and the rule changes

Hmm. Pretty sure “my tummy’s upset, mummy” would have a hard time w the Gs these guys are taking and clicking off laps like metronomes

I always love new tech, but I have to agree with you. The technology keeps putting increasing levels of non-human interference into the equation. But the new people don’t know this, so they can’t pass on any information that appreciates the old school. I’ll bet that 95% of the people that go to the races or watch them on TV don’t even ride sport motorcycles, let alone go to the track. We are all old enough to have experienced when the manufacturers have to slow down the machines, or dumb down the machines so that the racing will continue to be competitive, but also to simply fit on the race tracks. Nowhere is this more readily seen than in the Red Bull air racing competition people continually ask the question, why are they racing those propeller driven planes, why aren’t they racing jet planes, why aren’t they racing F-16’s? If they did, the altitude would be very high to have any sort of safety protocol, and the course would be very very large, too large for the human eye, so the only way to allow regular human participation for viewing is to fly the much slower, prop planes. That is the epitome of dumbing down and slowing down the equipment so you can have a race.

The tire wars? The problem is that tires dictate everything at the prototype level, can you imagine if Gigi could tell Michelin exactly what he wanted! Ducati would be so dominant it would be a joke.

Tire development would much better help us plebes than aero. Better tires would also be arguably safer especially since the drop in cc will inherently increase corner speeds (see 2007-10).

Why would you think that Ducati would have the exact tire they wanted? That's a bit myopic

I think tires decision as everything with Dorna is Mafia controlled subject.

Maybe Pirelli didnt pay enough to take fat execs of Dorna out on a private megayacht with some beautiful ukranian models

Doesn’t Dorna own WSBK which has Pirelli as the sole brand of tires.

Ironic how Pani thinks everything is mafia when his whole country’s economic sanctuary for dictators and oligarchs is for money laundering
