Motul is great oil....ducati calls for Shell Advanced...i used to say, oil brands wouldn't matter as long as it came from a dinosaur....but we're in to synthetics now
-- either brand, or another motorcycle specific high quality synthetic will be fine....if you're like me, you'll be flushing it thru faster than you can change it
-- my R just went in the shop for another inspection due to oil consumption/aka oil being blown out of the crankcase breather
