I tried using the Motul MoCool. Drained my factory coolant and put some Motorex coolant in. Mixed in the MoCool at 5% as per instructions.

Rode today and did not seem to notice any drops in temp. Was a warm day so maybe it would have been hotter had I not done it. But nothing I could really tell.

Cost me $49 AUD for the MoCool. I did learn however what a PITA changing the fluid was though.

Question. Should I have put some locktite on the radiator drain bolt ?

I didn't when I changed mine. Radiators are typically made from pretty light weight material. Any extra stress pulling such a small screw out is liable to either strip the Inhex socket out of the head or tear the parent material of the radiator. Ducati torque guide V2 doesn't mention it. I did mine up firmly but no tighter. Those being the only two risks...it's up to you!

I too have been running Motul MoCool for about 1500 miles so far. It is mixed at 5% MoCool and 95% Distilled Water.

The temp is still dependent on the fans as the fan comes on at 219 and shuts off at 217. With a manually controlled fan switch I should be able to easily control the temp at an even lower threshold.

The temp no longer climbs any higher then 221-223 before coming right back down even on super hot days in traffic on the way back from the canyon/mountain passes.

I find that the bike cools off easier and faster then before with the factory coolant additive.

I am going to adjust down when the fan comes on at 103 C when I get the Tuneboy "tune" done. It will come on at 103 deg C to evaporate water in the case in the first cycle and then come on at 95 C after that each time. With the type of riding I do it heat is not normally an issue for me. Thank you to both for advice about the bolt. I pulled the fairings off yesterday to check levels and for leaks after yesterday and the bolt is fine.
