Ok, so my first frustration is my second stall. Sitting at a red light, in neutral, and about the 3rd minute at red light...... Stall.

Second concern is the small oil leak i found on my garage floor to the left side of the bike. The oil looked very clean, and was about the size of a credit card.

Thoughts?

I'd pull the left side fairings and find the source and then go from there. Hopefully something wasn't tightened all the way and that's it. Is there oil on the exhaust cover/pipe on the left side as well?

How many miles?

Stall is odd, but maybe the bike has some fault codes logged against them? If its very low miles, then the ecu may still be learning.

Where was the oil, in relation to the bike? If its clear, then may not be from engine, unless you just got it changed.

Ughh. Hearing this .... worries me about the quality checks. Thank goodness I havnt had one issue w My Tri !!

No issues with mine Tri either, except one time after a 150 mile ride and a stop for about 20 min, it took a second try to get the bike started. My dealer told me that once you press on the starter to hold on pressing till it starts, cause sometimes takes a while. So far it worked. However, reading such things also makes me a bit concerned

on my 2012, i've had two such stalls. i'm not particularly worried yet. these are the type of stalls nothing you can do to keep the engine from shutting off.

at least your stalls came at a red light while you were stopped. try while executing a low speed 90-degree right hand turn (into a parking lot) with traffic behind you and you suddenly lose all power; i was luckly i let it roll out of harms way.

when/if ducati figures it out, we'll get another recall.

oh my! glad you were lucky there mate and all worked up fine, but that can give you the Oh .... factor feeling for sure when in motion

It did the same thing to me too! I felt really blessed when I got home that day:eek:

it was really light pink and clean (sorry im so NOT a mechanic but i didnt think oil was pink?). funny thing is i rode it last night and theres no leak this morning. wtf?

THe liquid was near the front of the bike on left. Im at 350 miles

My bike stalled once when started at standstill when new and I was putting on my gear....has stalled maybe twice early on at low speed slowing down but not for the last 8,000km. I've stalled it more times because I'm a klutz with the clutch!

Don't stress, this bike is dynamite! There's so many trolls and scare mongers that a lot of this .... gets blown out of proportion!

I really doubt its oil.

After a handful of miles even fresh oil goes dark, particularly the running in oil that Ducati have filled it with from the factory.

It could be an over application of lubricant or grease that has got hot, pooled up and dripped to the floor.

Have a look/feel in the belly pan, or remove it and look for more.

Agreed - it isn't brake fluid or oil if it is pink.

It maybe the fork tube leaking? Have it checked out.

Light pink and clear? Do you have Water Wetter in it?

Yeah, there aren't that many fluids in these things so I think we can eliminate oil and brake fluid and it can't be transmission fluid so it has to be something else. Maybe that's a pool of tears that got stained pink as they dripped down the red fairing? What have you been doing to that bike? You weren't riding her in your mohawk helmet and threatening her with chromed out accessories or neon lighting were you?

No Neon lighting or chrome! Yuck, that would make me cry :)

Whats confusing is that it only happened once 2 nights ago, but after last nights ride, nothing. Is there any sort of overflows on this bike that could create that? Im going to get the bike out of the garage and try to figure out how to pull the fairing off an take a look. Im not good at this ...., I'm completely mechanically retarded so this ought to be interesting! Thanks for your input and suggestions. That why i like this forum more than the others.

It could be coolant, especially if the bike was running hot. Happened to me a couple of times on my CBR1000RR09 but no damage done.

Be super careful with the fairings if you decide to investigate. The little tabs and hooks, etc. are pretty fragile. I found that if I use very light pressure and it isn't coming off then I am doing something wrong and I'll angle around and try to see behind it to see what's catching. It's not one of those things where "it will come off if you force it a bit". That will break the little tabs or the rectangular holes that fit over tabs on the other pieces.

Yeah there is a radiator overflow tank but i don't know on what side it is on a Pani. You might have water wetter in it, it would be really neat if you did.
