Although I feel it is nice to have the latest and greatest! I am really happy with my '14 "R". The more I do to it the better it gets, just figured I would post up a good thread.

I don't commute on the bike at all. We ride to and from the canyons all around here. Also have a trailer to go to Vegas and other locations. We just leave the trailer at the hotel and plan routes.

I have amassed over 4700 miles so far on the bike and it just keeps running better and better every ride. 90% of the miles have been canyons with only 1 track day.

I have changed the oil and filter every 1500 miles since the first service. There has only been 1 leak so far. The rear valve cover had developed a leak that was easy to fix myself with a new valve cover seal.

I have a few more pounds to drop but we weighed it on the digital scale and it came in at 410 lbs with 90% fuel in the tank. The goal is 400 lbs with 90% fuel.

For performance the next big mod will be the superstock headers and up-map.

To me this is what riding is about. I hope the 1299s and I get to this point. Glad to see you aren't swayed with the news.

Thanks! How can I not be happy, the bike is incredible!

I test rode the 1199s about 15 times and loved every s3conds of it including traffic. B7t since i havent bought it 1299s is the way. And the longest ext warranty they have. This one gets passed down.

I have since taken the engine covers off when I was fixing the valve cover seal on the vertical cylinder. I like it much better with the engine showing. It allows me to keep a better eye on what is going on and it makes it much easier to clean also.

I am slowly replacing all the plastic back ground pieces with matte carbon. The last carbon will be a full set of the exterior fairings painted in the factory style and color with carbon edges like the SL and carbon showing through in place of all white lettering and white stripes.

All titanium hardware is going to be added soon too. I want to slowly replace all the hardware on the bike.

Here are some more up to date pictures. These were taken today with just over 4800 miles on it.

Love the bike! I was thinking of going 2015 R but I'm starting to think I may just get a 2014 R if I can get a good price on a new one or find a really low mile used 14

Dude its like looking at a hot bodied chick in a tight dress you know what's there but its still mysterious. Love it. Looks amazing.
