My Motorrad to Corse transition isn't going so smooth.

ha! I've got a 13 mts gt on order after taking a 12 multi for a long test ride some months ago. Multi is a superb all round bike and seems to do everything pretty well.

It's a choice, but I don't really see the reason for disabling the exhaust valve. Think it's unlikely this would be causing the poor running you experienced. I think mainly it was the mapping issues, ie the new map not installed correctly and perhaps the hard starting related to the fuel pump or evap canister.

Just IMHO.

Picked Matilda up today and few things to mention:

1) Multistrada was my loaner bike and it is so bad ass...so bad ass:D
2) It runs very well and my wrists were happy on a 20 mile trip back. *knock on ....... wood*
3) Exhaust valve being disabled, it makes the bike a tad gutless below 4K. It is quite a bit noticeable.
4) Did I mention that Strada's ass is bad?

You lucky bugger you! I would love to have a Multi as a secondary right now, superb machine :D. It is a very intense feeling riding it due to having a mountain of power while sitting upright, I never experienced it anything like it. Two gripes about it though, no damper and Pilot Road 3s should be factory tires.

I think you are right, I might have over reacted with the exhaust valve. Stock exhaust is not meant to have that system disabled, it just doesn't know what to do without it. I might just re-enable it when i see my service tech tomorrow.

yep, I love the road 3s which I mounted on my streetfigher a year and half ago, even worked well for a track day.

Think you'll be happy with the exhaust valve, bear in mind, at specific rpms the engine will go almost dead quiet and you'll think it's something wrong, just the valve opening to drop the decibels.

Bear with me on this, I promise there is a point to this post. Over last weekend, a section of my exhaust has failed and started leaking pretty badly. Bad enough that my garage was full of smoke so I brought it down to the EuroCycles and dropped it off for a check over. Since I am at EC very often for service, I have a fav tech (I think I am gonna have that guy over for T-Giving this year, that's how good we know each other now) that wrenches of my horse and fav loaner bike (Strada of course). Very sad if you think about it. Tech looks at it and immediately figured out that it something thing inside of the canister that gets loose and leaks, easy fix. On top of that he offered to wrap my pipes while he is down there for free, who would refuse that right:D? Owner of the dealership was standing next to me and said---"Since we are going to tear some of the exhaust pieces to wrap it, you want to just buy a full Termi? I will give you the best price I can." Me---"How good?". He came back with a 3K installed number. I told him about my interest in the Austin pipe and how much I want to wait till the new Termi header drops till I finalize my decision. He nodded and said "whenever you are ready but keep in mind. I won't be able to honor the warranty if you get the Austin system in case something happens". WTF should I do? Take him up on his 3K offer now? Wait till the new header comes out or take my chances with the Austin pipe? He has been nothing but good to me with warranty work and has done two fucktons of stuff which he never charged me for.

Honestly I love my Termi's but the AR is really an eye catcher, but I'm just not sure about the lack of heat shield and the reliability of the belly pan just as of yet, need some reviews. The AR is a huge investment if you are going for performance (the higher end option) compared to the Termi and at the cost you are getting yours for a few more Ponies. The delta savings would allow me to add other mods to the bike to get better performance. I was in the same boat you are in for the same price but they kicked in ceramic coating and that sealed the deal for me. Tuff decision for you but at $3k installed....I would.

Thanks for the response X. How smooth is your low-end fueling at the moment, in comparison to stock?

I got a good deal on my full system, although not as good as you were quoted. I have no issues with low-mid fueling. I think if I hadn't got the Termi's I would be strongly considering the AR's, but not sure with the difference in price you have.

Is it nice and crisp or could use a little work? Well I am looking at least a 1200 dollar difference without an install or dyno tune. AR is looking like a thing of a distance past at the moment, price wise. I really want to see a pic of the updated Termi manifold before I make my final decision.

It is a crazy good feeling to have a bike with both of turn signals working :D...and to be able to monitor your trip mileage is a pure bliss also.

I'm not fit and I have no issues on my wrists except when I ride with my GF , who basically plays the role of a 63kg backback that squeezes my nuts...

no big issues with heat on leathers except when riding in traffic

I wish my wife would give mine a squeeze once in a while.:D

I figure I would do a little update...Hopefully I won't fooking jinx myself in the process.

So far so good. I initiated the 41T upgrade, so far all i have is a chain in my possession :(. I was away for 4 weeks and it might have made a lot of difference, it was a rather refreshing reunion yesterday morning. I did a balls to the wall twisties run yesterday and it performed great. I made a few mistakes but machine made none.

Two things I been noticing: 1) I have to initiate my turn in a little later than I am used to, Pani falls into a turn a lot faster than S1. At least it does in my head :D 2) I am slower in fast corners (at least for now) but it feels a lot more planted, therefore I hold the line better with minimal clip on inputs. Pani is also A TON more confidence inspiring in slow corners, I had to be pretty gingerly in technical corners on the S1.

Dunlop needs to release Q2s in our size! My rear is almost shot.

Yeah, turn in startled me for awhile. It's so precise and quick. I like it because I can see more of the corner before having to turn.

Did you end up getting the Termi?

Hey Caster - my AR system gets fitted in the morning will give you the full SP as soon as I've been able to ride it.

With regards to warranty I plan to leave my current setup at my mechanics and if I need to go in for service I'll swap them over. If they decide to get ...... I can live with it.

Can't wait to report more!!!

Hey Bronchie, answer is no. Not yet. I am on the fence on a few things, one being a house purchase.
