Hi guys, this post is really intended for the Melbourne Ducati Owners. I purchased a 1199s back in Feb this year and the salesperson offered me a packaged deal which is the bike, Termi slip-ons and the first service for $39k ($35,990+$3010). I dropped my bike off for the first 1k service thinking that I don't have any further costs as everything is paid but then I get told the 1st service was not part of the initial all up price.

It's been annoying me for a few nights thinking about it because I didn't have the full details written on the contract(stupid me!) and the salesperson thinks that I got it wrong.

I just want to know if any Melbourne owners received any packaged deals with the pipes otherwise I'll be forking out an additional $460 when I may have paid this inadvance???

Does $3010 for Slip-Ons + installations sound like a lot? If anyone has this agreement then I can prove to the salesperson my case!

Just pay it mate and get on with life. 3000 is a lot just for slips fitted. But you agreed so now is no time to whine about it.

Pay it and go out and enjoy your bike. life is too short. You can always go to another dealer for service.

I do not remember my first service costing so much and mine included getting some Warp speed Rad guards fitted.

Thanks Bradp51! What's annoying me is not the $460 or $500 cost to service a beautiful piece of machinery but its the principal and integrity of the deal if that was the agreement. If others have received this package then I know where I won't be going next time.

I gather it is from Ducati Melbourne ? I would just pay it and take the bike elsewhere in the future sounds affair bit for slip ons and a first service .
Try Moto Logic they are a authorised Ducati service centre .

Sounds similar to mine.
Though I was never expecting or told the first service was included.
I'd have to check the first service cost. Not sure it was that high!

Well, just had the 1st service and couldn't even be bothered to ask but gotta say you are a number only from that point onwards! You were made pretty special at the point of sale but then...... I've purchased a few cars in my time and when they say car salesman are bad, I've now had worse!

Sorry for the whinge but just thought purchasing a Ferrari equivalent in a bike should've been a better service level.....

Anyways, life goes on!

Use moto logic in the future. Ducati City have gone from good to terrible. Been a Ducati owner for 30 plus years and it sucks being in Melbourne.

I've got 2 Ducatis from Melbourne dealers already and the 1000 kms service has never been included in the deals, and believe me, those guys hate me cause I'm specialist in bargain and putting the dealers against each other to get the best price.

First time Ringwood dealer won and I got my ex 848 from them (1000 kms service not included and paid in Ringwood but with a courtesy bike included at no cost), second time Ducati city won and I got my ex 1198 from them (got the Termis in the package installed with the 1000 Kms service in Ducati City but I still had to pay the service), now with the Pani all dealers lost as I bought it second one from a private seller with only 200 Kms on it (1000 kms service paid to the delaer something over $400).

So mate as everyone said, just pay it and enjoy your bike, and if it helps you feel better just think that everyone gets ripped off anyways ;)

Cheers,
