The ABS more popular some dealers had difficulty shifting non ABS so think abt when you sell it later. I would go for 2013 onwards, if you can get an ex demo with extras ie termis like I did you might get a good deal.
I paid £13775 for mine, last November, looking new now in UK with termis just over £18,000!!!good saving eh?!

Good luck in your search!

I have a 2012 S and couldn't be happier with it. It is really just an utterly phenomenal bike. Other than the turn signal issue (which was easily resolved under warranty), I haven't had any problems whatsoever.

If you're doing mostly street riding, the S is a great choice. The LED headlights look fantastic, are outstanding at night and, I believe, contribute to rider safety by increasing your visibility to other drivers in both dark and light conditions. The electronically adjustable Ohlins units are fantastic as well. Having the option to adjust suspension on the fly is definitely a nice feature to have in your arsenal when taking routes with varying road conditions. The ABS on this bike, like the traction control, is extremely good with a very non-interfering feeling when it does kick in. You can't go wrong with any of the available models you mentioned, but my recommendation would be to take the S model with ABS.

Best of luck and safe riding!

My 12 has had a lot of issues...been in the shop a lot all under warranty. It's like a complicated relationship for me. When its good...my lord..its good. When its bad, It's bad. Good out weighs the bad for me by long shot.

Bad
-starter went bad
-turn signals and horn failed
-forks went bad
-oil leak
-hardstart issue
-dash fogged
-lost a ton of bolts

Good
-front wheel comes up in almost every gear :)

Is your bike in the shop right now in Daytona? Seen one there on the lift yesterday all torn apart.

Yep. That's mine.

Key-righst!

What is it torn apart that far for this time?

Huel is a great service manager and I'm sure he's taking care of you, but damn.

Oil was leaking from a few different areas. He had to order a bunch of new parts. I'm getting a couple upgrades done while it's in though...wheels, air filter, missile launcher.

I was worried about my bike when I first got it, but I did it anyways. There have been a few lemons, but the majority of people have had no issues. If you do have a warranty item, though, expect to be treated very well by Ducati dealers.

Also, if you buy a 'lesser' model you'll always, always regret not getting an 1199.

Anti hero. Just had a quick look at your adventure blog. Hats off to you my man. Great trip!

Good point. If you're the type that sells/trades every couple of years, the presence (or lack) of ABS could make a difference.
I tend to keep bikes a long time (12-15 yrs+) to the point where any options/accessories have little impact on sale potential.
