Dead wrong. I can go into a Ducati dealership right now and buy every piece off the 1199SL. My business partner bought a magnesium frame a year ago and we replaced a factory CF subframe and complete left side CF panels for a client. I have and 1199SL crankshaft, rod and pistons on a work station right now purchased from Ducati. May want to check your facts. The only piece you cannot get is the serialized top clamp. As to why I post, its to break up the monotony of blinkers, gas tank caps, how much is my bike worth and "just wanted to say hey" posts. Its not to be arrogant at all. If anything its to empower people out of slavery that they have been brainwashed into. There is nothing "rare and exclusive" about any of this. This is again part of that psychobabble brainwashing BS that always precedes the launch of something they are going to stick it to you for. The watch world is particularly notorious for their "limited to 250 pieces" line then 200 of them hit ebay and decline in price every month.

Except the engine parts, if any the only reason one would buy the SL parts is for bling, most of the parts are not race friendly in the cost department. Don't get me wrong I like the race parts too, I have an R and do not race anymore, just wanted one, have no need for one, but I can buy one, so why not.

LOL. Yea I got the wife a great set of gel knee pads so i'm good there. TJ what are your thoughts of Ducati maybe venturing into something like Aprilia's "Factory Works" program with the Corse group? I got my hands on a build list for the RS16 and the cost of the bike and really, its not that bad.

I love the idea and was pushing for something similar the entire time I was there. I wanted to do a "Ducati Bespoke" program, working together with Corse, in which clients could basically order a custom-built bike with genuine race parts if they desired.

My boss didn't think it was a good idea.

If only Ducati's top management had more vision and business acumen, and didn't treat people like ...., it could be so much better...

Hahahah this is what i am talking about. You sound like a total douche. I did check my facts....that's straight from my friend who OWNS a Duacti dealership. I'll believe him over some rando on the internet. You may have those parts but some rules may have been bypassed then.
But good luck in your build . I am glad you can come here and feed your ego. End of the day your gonna have $50k in a bike thats no faster than a $20k R1 and isnt worth(or hold value) what a real 1299SL is.

Well I may sound like a douche and you being one most assuredly makes you an expert. Your another worthless board troll with absolutely nothing to contribute. I get it. You have some POS bike that leaves you to continually ponder your minimum wage job and miserable existence. Seriously, you need to step up, get out of your moms basement and hit the employment lines. It's gets better man. You never going to have anything to show for all that drooling unless you break those bad habits. Shoot me a PM. I'll get my secretary to help you with a headhunter in your area. Lastly, your friends is inaccurate. The dealers have every SL part in their catalog. I will have the owner of Beverly Hills Ducati post here and verify what I said. In turn you agree to to quit the board and not subject the rest of us to your uselessness.

Jeez you have "Bro" right in your board name. I am an idiot for even responding to this 15yo. If your welfare check has hit and there is enough left over after the big gulp, Doritos and cigarettes do a gallon of gas,go do some wheelies by by the Walmart. Straight off the trailer.

Endodoc just post pics of your holiday bike and everyone else will be speechless, and jealsous.................please post pics.......

A few people here have built some amazing bikes. I am by no means in an exclusive category. I have had the pleasure of meeting a lot of them and marveled over their work, attention to detail and resourcefulness. For me I post to again empower and to dispel the myths of futility that keep people from achieving what has become ingrained in their heads as unattainable. "Unobtainium" does not exist folks. I have seen, purchased and made my own "unobtainium" many times. Cost is a factor but many times due to a narrow scope of planning, guys spend just as much or even more than the "unobtainable" after they tally the cost of the bike and all the aftermarket parts. It's really an interesting lesson in personal economics. Once you get to the point where you have overcome the trepidation and have convinced yourself that there is no magic "factory goodie fairy" out there, you tend to focus more on what you can do rather what you thought you couldn't do. I marvel at resourcefulness and self guided ingenuity that leads to creativity and bad ass .....

I can barely do oil change, clutch brake bleed, and few bolts on...let alone building bikes from nothing like you guys. :D:D

This is a interesting build .

Ahhhhh. The turbine engine. Someday. Need to figure out the transmission and the exhaust is a bitch. Power to weight of some of the new turbine tech is staggering.

This is all i was trying to say too.

We get it you can build a cool bike! But why are there like 15 threads about this bike? Its just going on and on its annoying . Just some food for thought .

mito was saying the same thing lol

Dude, you are really loosing sleep over this bike. Ever since this bike has been announced, you've been going on and on about how much of a waste of money it is.
That being said, there has to be a point where you just say "this bike isn't for me" and move on.

Please dont say im on welfare and live in my moms basement too, that would literally make me cry all week and im not allowed to cry anymore because my mommy said grown men dont cry.

Wow ouch :D
For a grown man/business owner you sound awfully immature and unintelligent. But if you'll excuse me i have to get back to my minimum wage job now. My boss at the pizza shop does not like when i am late. He is already mad at me since my bike broke down twice last week.

Hey its your play ground so I was forced to "dress" accordingly. Its a painful regression but sometimes it has to be done. I'm sure you make a great Pizza. Carry on "Bro"

The paint scheme is the only problem I have with it. They really blew it there.
