Hey Guys..

My dealer has me by the balls.. There's a 2012 Tri avail with a day only deal. The ball is in my court to come up with a price.... The broker in me says anything with a "1" in front is the way to go. Realistically I told him I wanted to wait for a 13 white "S" or the 14's & just grab a monster for the season..

I am really wanting to wait until '14's come out. Issues that keep me from pulling the trigger now:
We saw what happened to the 1x98 series...

BMW had a update after 2yrs

Melting faring & Dash... etc etc... I know all bikes come with issues especially with the Italian broads...

Anyway just need some numbers & opinions from you guys...

Thanks in advance.....

Comes with a 2 year warranty. FYI the Tri is only supposed to be made up until 2013, so no more Tri. If you love the look of the Tri, pull the trigger. Sign the cheque, load up your credit card/whatever you have to do, JUST DO IT. Less talking more buying :D .

Lol... Frosty... I think he wants it...He just needs a number...I do not see you getting it for a number beginning with "1"...

Yeah, I agree, the mark-up isn't that much that you'd get the "1" price... $23k maybe? That number is not based on anything but a guess... As I have a base ABS

Retail price for used '12 Tri seems to be about $24,000 here in Denver, maybe even less. My dealer has two they just got for trade ins, making me think the market isn't that good for them. But even at $24,000, the dealer is losing money. You get that or below, would be a great deal. Though you might be able to get even a better deal for a very low mile used '12.

Though I despise anybody giving pressure like a "day only" deal. That is garbage and a pressure sale, not an honest statement. What makes it any different tomorrow or next week? So if they are pulling that crap, be sure and low ball. Now I agree with above, you get it for under $20k, you've gotten a fantastic deal, the bike is worth more than that on the open market.

You will never get it under 20 new. With 5k on the clock, sure. But forget about residuals, you have the pinnacle of street motorcycle tech and design now. Later will be different, but just realize the difference between '06 motoGP laps and '12 Laps is about 1 sec. and you can always buy white fairings for the Tri!

Those offers say to me that sales for these bikes suck right now..:(

Yes, but at this point, a lot of the dealers in the SoCal and Phoenix area only have usually one 2012 S in stock. Most of the base models are gone.

That said, this program makes me wonder what they'll do for the 2014 model year and is probably why they're trying to clear 2012 right now. 2014s should be introduce in Milan in November, right?

The biggest cost you're not factoring in is the cost of not having an 1199 for the duration of your wait. There will always be a bigger/better/smoother/slicker model out next year or the year after or the year after. And every day you delay will be a day you won't get to experience the rush and thrill of Panigale ownership.

As for the deal--no deal is a 1-day deal on the 11th of June. Especially if they haven't given you a figure.

Maybe it's the dealer's way of saying if you're willing to sign a cheque today, we'll let it go for lower than we're expecting to sell it for.

My recommendation, walk in with a bank draft in hand with a number you think is fair. I did that, I and I got $2,000 off my '13 model in March.

$24/25k has to be the lowest they will go though..... I would think...

For what it's worth, in July 2007, a SoCal dealer sold me the 1098 Tricolore for $23k.

I used to be a car salesman summers in college... no day is ever a 1-day deal. The dealer's invoice doesn't change depending on what day it is. Some dealers will get more agressive at the end of the month or even moreso at the end of a quarter because, at least in the auto industry, the dealers get bonuses based on sale volumes... but a good dealer can give you their best price any day of the month. It's usually just a game they play to put urgency in your head.

I wanna spend the money trust me. It's that the TC allows me to be objective as I'm really not that fond of the color.. And just be buying for the slips.

No... that's not a good choice then...
