No... that's not a good choice then...

Agreed. You don't love it, you never will and no deal will help that. I spent way more than I shoudl because I absolutely loved the looks of the tri (so yes, I paid that much more for a color scheme). And agree with the above, I'd be surprised if you got them to agree to $24k. I believe their cost was about $25k.

He who names the price first loses. I would ask them the price, they're the dealer right?

No full system and has 393 miles on it. Looks like it's also been registered (ie: used).

It's a competitive price. I. Know a dealer selling a 2013 tri with like 20 miles for 25. That includes everything ( slips etc). So 20k for no slips, 12, and a few hundred extra miles is about there for a dealer.

Passing.... I think I'm gonna at least wait until I see the white/primer in person. He says its to arrive this week. I like FF's idea of having a bank draft a check. I've never purchased a bike cash so it's kinda cool Having Most of the leverage.. Although if ducati is giving free money....

I told the guy 19k he laughed....he didn't give me a hard no though.

Bank drafts don't mean anything. Dealers make more money on financing not less.

He laughed bc 19k isn't a serious offer. 22-23k is best case scenario.

+1. Dealer get the money either way and they get incentives for financing. I did call a dealer and they said Ducati is making payment during their promo period vs. some other brand's "no payments for six months" and in the mean time, interest is still accruing and the bike's depreciating.

My advice if you're going with a 2012, take the promo and free money and just pay it off at the end of the six months.

I'm sorry but thinking you'll pick up a brand new '12 Tri for $19,999.99 is absolutely laughable. No dealership would ever entertain that "offer" if that's what you call it. I would bid you good luck picking up a leftover S for $19,999 let alone the $28,000 Tri.....

Ebay had a dealer asking $21,495 for a leftover tri. That was after the ducati first 4 (or was it 5) month payment offer valued around $1,500 bringing the 'real' price up to $23,000 still F&S

Just my $.02

Money talks...I got $2,000 off mine when I walked in with a bank draft.

Point is HE has a '12 tri sitting there, half way through '13. Has it sat there since, Feb '12 or Dec '12.
Tipping it will sit there til month end and it's only going to get tougher for him to move the '12.

And, you could gotten the same if you financed. You know the lender give dealers incentives to finance through them.

So your point about financing is moot, yes the dealer makes more, but still didn't matter, I got a great deal. Dealer didn't say, "we'll give you the bike for this price only if you finance it!"

Actually, my point wasn't the purchase price. It's that if you take advantage of the promo and finance for six month, you get to keep your cash for six months. Invest it or hold on to it. Either way, it's cash in hand for six months. Or 4 months - depending on which bike you buy.

Ducati is making the payments for you, you will still be on the hook for the interest for the term, so it's not a "deal" vs paying cash. And I bet it's 4 months with 5 year financing.

It's only a deal if you intended on financing in the first place.

You are wrong. There are no prepayment penalties. Its ducati paying about 1k worth of your balance and $400 in interest and 4.99%
