Okay...I love my Ducati's in so many ways...but I don't really don't love, how should I say this, riding a paint shaker from 2K-4.5K rpms....

My mirrors are pretty much useless on my 1098S, but the vibration renders them totally useless...

My question-Will the new 1199 engine design increase or decrease the inherent vibrations experienced by riders?

I know this is like complaining about Cindy Crawford not being a great public speaker...Any thought/input from the forum?

Cheers

Do you have the stock exhaust. If so the O2 sensors starves the engine at low RPM. The Termignoni full exhaust solved the problem for me.

The question is what aftermarket exhaust is needed for the 1199?

From my understanding of crankcase pressure, the vacuum pump will not only yield more power, but should also help the engine through its entire cycle. In other words, I believe that this new design will be less shaky. Though we won't know until we see it.

It's really quite interesting; the new engine seems to make most of it's power up top - in that case it may be even more shaky in the lower rev range.
But, it's all going to depend on gearing and fueling.
Unfortunately EPA restrictions haven't eased over the last year so I'm pretty sure this bike will run lean down low just like every other bike out there.

Interesting note; The 2010 KTM RC8R was criticized for trying to be a twin that runs like an I4.
Most reviewers didn't like it at all and said that a twin needs to behave like a twin.

I wonder if the Ducati engine is heading that direction with it's high revving power output and if the motorcycling press will react the way they did with the RC8?

Remove the emissions stuff and put a full exhaust.

The 1098 had gobs or torque down low
