hey everybody.
my name is pete and i just took delivery of my new 1199s-abs.
i'm 47 years old and i've been riding on the street since '06.
i live down in the flatlands but own a vacation home in the blairsville, ga. area and spend a lot of time there in the warm months. im about 20 minutes from blood mtn. or suches....prime territory for twisties.
my first bike was an '06 zx-14. i still have it and i still ride it often and with great pride and enjoyment. ive made lots of mods mainly in the suspension dept. to make it capable in the twisties and it handles quite nicely despite its size and weight. i have great fun embarassing the urban posers that venture up to blood mtn. from atlanta on the weekends on their literbikes.:D
i also had an '08 zx-10 which i sold just a few weeks ago. i used it mainly for trackdays and some occasional street riding but usually i opted for the 14 on the street since it is much more comfortable.
the 1199 is pure enjoyment....a wonderful mixture of thumps and rattles.
i had a hell of a time trying to get the distributor to deliver my reserved bike to my chosen dealer and finally had to bug out and buy from a different dealer. i got very discouraged and almost bailed for a rsv4 factory. im glad i waited because the aprillia didnt really do it for me in the looks dept. and im pretty sure i would have been sorely disappointed at the first instance i heard a panigale go by at full song.
i cant wait to get this thing up to blairsville later in the week and see how it does laid over with the rear stepping out ever so slightly.

thanks,
pete

Pete, I'm on the other side of GA on al. border in Columbus. Did you get yours at NPR in Bogart? I know they had an S abs.

My base came in and I go pick it up on Wed.

I get up to N. Ga from time to time. You just missed the ducati.ms east coast rally at deals gap a couple weeks ago, we had a blast.

Say, you might look at US DESMO - A Ducati Desmo Motorcycle Owner's Club for the United States we've got our annual event in Murphy, NC Ducs Fly South in Sept. we have been in Hiawassee the past few years after giving up on dahlonega, Murphy is very close. It's a fun event. Usually about 60 ducs show up.

Also we've got Ducs Head West in August at Erwin TN (not too far from Asheville.

Hi Chris.
I bought from magic city in Orlando.
They treated me very well I thought.
Glad to hear your wait is almost over.
If you never had the chance to take a test ride you are in for a real treat.
This thing pushes all the right buttons.
It was especially cool to me since ive spent my entire career on inline fours.
Ill try to keep up with those gatherings and hopefully we will cross paths.

Pete

Welcome!

I've still got a home just outside of Atlanta (unfortunately).

Blood Mountain is so much fun. I hope one day TWO will open back up.

It's fun playing with the squids up that way. There a lot worse in Florida especially with no helmet law.

good taste! welcome !

will shoot you a pm when planning to hit the mountains next time!
