hey everybody.
my name is pete and i just took delivery of my new 1199s-abs.
i'm 47 years old and i've been riding on the street since '06.
i live down in the flatlands but own a vacation home in the blairsville, ga. area and spend a lot of time there in the warm months. im about 20 minutes from blood mtn. or suches....prime territory for twisties.
my first bike was an '06 zx-14. i still have it and i still ride it often and with great pride and enjoyment. ive made lots of mods mainly in the suspension dept. to make it capable in the twisties and it handles quite nicely despite its size and weight. i have great fun embarassing the urban posers that venture up to blood mtn. from atlanta on the weekends on their literbikes.
i also had an '08 zx-10 which i sold just a few weeks ago. i used it mainly for trackdays and some occasional street riding but usually i opted for the 14 on the street since it is much more comfortable.
the 1199 is pure enjoyment....a wonderful mixture of thumps and rattles.
i had a hell of a time trying to get the distributor to deliver my reserved bike to my chosen dealer and finally had to bug out and buy from a different dealer. i got very discouraged and almost bailed for a rsv4 factory. im glad i waited because the aprillia didnt really do it for me in the looks dept. and im pretty sure i would have been sorely disappointed at the first instance i heard a panigale go by at full song.
i cant wait to get this thing up to blairsville later in the week and see how it does laid over with the rear stepping out ever so slightly.
the newest toys in the fleet:
well in closing if anyone is in the area and wants to hook up for a ride shoot me a pm, im flexible and always looking for good folks to ride with.
thanks,
pete
