Hi All,

I’m a new Panigale V2 first owner.
I have been on Kawasaki Ninja 400.
Then Aprilia RS660 but had factory issues.
Decided to go to Panigale V2 and I’m amazed. Love it! The V4 R looks even more beautiful but I have time!

Now I’m looking for few suggestions:
1. Battery tender. (is it really needed if I ride 10 min everyday?)
2. Fender eliminator, which one do you recommend?
3. Frame sliders/Wheel sliders.
4. Tires (do you recommend different ones?)
5. ECU (I’ve heard it might be good to reset it to allow the fans to start a lower limits)
6. Anything else you recommend?

What a wonderful setting for a very sharp looking ride. Does it ride as good as it looks?

@General13 I’m certainly no expert and there are far more knowledgeable people on this forum, but since you don’t have a bunch of feedback yet, here goes…

1. Battery tender. (is it really needed if I ride 10 min everyday?) don’t think it is critical in your climate. I only use in3 in the winter when my bike is stored. But they are cheap and easy and may extend the life of the battery.
2. Fender eliminator, which one do you recommend? Many people like the New Rage Cycle stuff. That is a minimalist approach. I prefer the EvoTech, because I actually want people to see my turn signals.
3. Frame sliders/Wheel sliders. I like the Aella engine sliders. But when I needed them, they were out of stock, so I got some knock offs (they work); I also have EvoTech lever guards (track only)
4. Tires (do you recommend different ones?) I have had no issue with the Pirellis and have them on both my Ducatis. This seems to be a personal thing
5. ECU (I’ve heard it might be good to reset it to allow the fans to start a lower limits). Yes, whether you go after market on the exhaust or not, remapping the ECU is a good idea. I went with BrenTune for my Arrow exhaust. But my V2 is track only. May have made a different choice if I was going to use it on the street.
6. Anything else you recommend? Since this is your first Ducati, you should look into “throttle spacers”. Ducati throttles tend to have some slop. Again, street riding, no big deal. Track - fix it.

WARNING (Soap Box) - So, my general pitch. If you are going to buy a Panigale, you should seriously consider doing a track day. You owe it to yourself, if for no other reason than to see the bike in its element. Just consider it closed course advanced training. If you already ride the track just ignore me.

You can see some of the things I mention above on my bike. Don’t do the clear clutch cover - I’m trying to get rid of it.

Congrats and welcome! The V2 is a great bike. I had mine tuned with Deussen handheld -- look him up. Slip on, desmog -- not much else is needed to fully enjoy it.
